The hotel was decent but was a challenge to communicate with hotel staff since no one spoke English. When we checked in it was said to my friend (not a guest of the hotel) who spoke French, that we could enjoy their breakfast each morning. At no point did they mention that there was an additional charge for this. Being...

We were a small group of Indian Army Veterans and families on a trip to Normandy in end-October and were lucky to have got to stay at Hotel De France. The clean, cosy rooms and the superbly gracious staff made our stay a memorable experience. Starting with the location (just 400 meters from the Caen Station. A real boon for...

Stayed here a couple of nights, off street parking and very helpful staff. Room was quiet, comfortable, shower room a bit small but everything worked ok. Quiet comfortable nights and very good breakfasts. Close to the tram stop and easy access to all the cycle paths for the town. Very happy with this choice.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel de France as a base camp for visiting the D-Day beaches and Mont St. Michel. It was an easy walk from the train station to this hotel. We arrived early at the hotel and they held our luggage and were very helpful with directions and touring information. Our room was nice, quiet,...

Good for a one, maybe two night stay. It's close to the train station which is great. If you have more than your carry on and one personal item, it might be a bit of a struggle to walk to and from the train. The breakfast is way too expensivr fit what they offer. You're better off getting food elsewhere.

We had such a nice stay here. Quad rooms are sizeable, especially by European standards, and very quiet. Easy location; 15-20 walk to center, 5 to station. Good WiFi once it got past initial hiccups, powerful shower, generous breakfast, bar to relax in the evening. Small parking lot but they squeezed the cars in and no problem as long as...

A nice small hotel situated a short walk from the station service, and a bit longer walk to the centre of town. A nice new shopping centre opposite the hotel with some cafes just st in case you needed anything. the rooms are ok, although a little on the small side. You could not open the door to the bathroom...

Stayed two nights.Room was somehow not arranged. After we complained it was arranged but they forgot to change towels.Bathroom is very small.Location is average-not so close to the center although it is a walking distance. The staff, however,is very friendly. In the same price,I would go for a better hotel which is better located.

Thank you for taking time to leave a comment. We take note of all your remarks. We are sorry if your stay was not perfect. We are located in front of a big mercant galery with many restaurants around, the walking distance to go to the castle is 10-15 minutes.

I chose this hostel for its proximity to the train station. I stopped for a night on the way from Bayeux to Paris and wanted something nearby the train station but still close to restaurants, a grocery market, and within walking distance of Chateau Ducal. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were kind. The helped...

If you are travelling by train to or from Toulouse this is right around the corner. Great for an overnight. This is not a luxury hotel but a good solid 3 star. There is shopping across the street and you can walk to restaurants from here.
