I have been travelling to France for many years and the restaurants just seem to deteriorate each year. We walked around Verdun looking at the many restaurants that were available and this was the first that we saw that had a decent menu and didn't offer just Pizza, Burgers etc as most of the others did. Inside it has pleasant,...

Not a lot of sparkling amenities at the Cloche d'Or, but for the price you get a quiet, comfortable sleep in a clean room right in the center of old town Verdun. Good value for the money, especially in the summer. The hospitality is warm, family-style; parking is available in an adjoining lot; and you're steps from everything. If you...

Quaint, charming building run by a very sweet, charming woman and her husband, I believe, who went to some trouble to make a parking space available to us.. And about the amenities I'd expect from a 2 star---beds were narrow bunk-size (twin rm), bare floors, at least on the attic floor where we were (which was no cheaper). A quick...

This hotel was better than the other reviews state. We stayed 2 nights. I would have given 4 stars except there was a snafu with hot on the last morning, so no shower. Our room was very clean and a good size. Comfortable bed and standard linens. The window was double paned, so nice and quiet. There is a restaurant...

Hotel is in a quaint and old building, with a stone staircase and paved hallways. However, the room we stayed in was very modern, with wood floors and very modern docor. The room and bathroom were clean and resonably comfortable. We were shown 3 different rooms, 2 of them seemed very stuffy and smelled of cigarette smoke. Hotel is close...

This hotel has been managed by two middle-aged womens. The Hotel is close to the city-centre and has an very sweet backyard where you can have a nice breakfast. French language-skills are recommendet (dont know if still needet). Prices have been good too, but i cant remember how many! It was old, but clean and very kind!

This hotel is simply the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The bed was very uncomfortable (you can feel the bed springs!), the pillows either flat or lumpy, and the bathroom not only incredibly tiny but absolutely flithy. Worst of all were the spiders (we killed about four large ones). Hotel is in a great location (right in the...

“Would suggest being able to preview rooms before accepting a key, especially if you're offered one on the top floor and it's during the warm summer months -- those rooms might get a tad stuffy.”
