Rooms are very nice and comfortable. All you need is available. Breakfast and diner are really tasty, prepared and cooked by the hostess Didi. The couple together is very hospitable and Maarten knows all about the WW I. The surroundings are great for walking. Shopping and strolling in Verdun is also very nice. We had a great long weekend with...

My friend and I spent a week looking at WW1/2 military history sites across France. We booked two rooms at 14-18 Nantillois for three nights via Air B&B, at the very last minute, having been let down by our original prospective accommodation (Grrrr). Boy did we fall on our feet!. Our hosts Didi and Maarten Otte were perfect hosts. The...

Nantillois is a French village with a population of around 60 persons, so you will be in rural France. It is pretty countryside. Our room was comfortable and the hosts, Didi and Maarten, were efficient, friendly, and helpful. Didi fixed us a dinner (20 euros each) which was delicious. As I saw no restaurants in Nantillois, this was a good...

If you want very hospitable and World War knowledgeable hosts, a cozy atmosphere, good food, spotless accommodation and a location near to Verdun history you can't do any better. We arrived hungry and tired from a very long journey had time to shower and eat dinner prepared by Didi. As well as preparing the food she ate with us, taking...

The previous review is spot-on. We were in France for the month of September visiting WW1 sites. We stayed with Didi and Maarten for two nights and had I planned better we would have stayed longer! Not only was the B&B immaculate and so homey, Didi's dinners were delicious. Maarten was a great host and his knowledge of WW1 is...

If you are interested in WWI history, especially the American effort, this unique country B & B is the place for you. Maarten & Didi, a young dutch couple, have combined Maarten's lifelong study of WWI and Didi's excellent hostess skills into the most special visit of our 2 week trip in France. It was wonderful to stay in a quiet...

This Bed & Breakfast deserves all the superlatives reviewers give it. In the smallest of villages, Maarten and Didi have created a place that we will return to many times, I suspect. Rooms are spacious and comfortable (and immaculate) but we'll return for two reasons: Maarten and Didi. Maarten is an absolute expert on World War I, particularly the 1918...

We stayed four nights at Maarten's and Didi's B&B in Nantillois and we had a wonderful time there: Didi and Maarten are excellent hosts who go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. We went on a half-day walk with Maarten to the Nantillois woods: highly recommended, value for money when you are interested in WWI. Didi prepares...

14-18Nantillois is a small B&B in the village of Nantillois in the north of France, near Verdun. Didy is the host in the B&B, while her partner Maarten (both Dutch) is an expert on WW-1. With 3 rooms the B&B is small. But that is a guarantee for a personal approach. Didy also provides 'tables d'hôtes' (host table) and proves...

My family and I stayed at this B&B for two days In July whilst visiting Verdun. It was by far a better choice than opting to stay in the town of Verdun itself. ** English spoken ** Our Bed&Breakfast 14-18 Nantillois in the department of the Meuse, is the perfect place to come to for rest and relaxation, to get away from your busy for a while and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of North-East France. A warm welcome awaits you in Nantillois, a quiet and friendly country village situated in the wonderful rolling landscape of the Meuse, typically French and totally different to what you know. Nantillois is less than a 4 hour drive from Calais, about a 3 hour drive from the Somme and 1,5 hours from Reims, capital of the Champagne region. The village lies between sloping farmland, pastures and forests. An oasis of peace and quiet in countryside steeped in the history of the First World War. Monuments like Montfaucon d'Argonne and Romagne sur Montfaucon are very near. Also larger, historical cities like Verdun (30 km), Montmedy (38 km) and Bar-le-Duc (90 km) are within reach. From Verdun you can reach Paris by TGV in one hour. A perfect environment for a short holiday. We have three bedrooms with all modern facilities, including wifi, in the friendly, rustic atmosphere of a French farmhouse. In the evening we invite you to join us for dinner (Table d'Hotes), where we serve local recipes with local products. Furthermore you are invited to visit our private museum 14-18 Nantillois which is situated next to our house. Our village is situated near the Argonne forest and will offer you various places of interest to visit and explore. Visit the monuments and battlefields of the First World War and use our Bed&Breakfast / Collection14-18 Nantillois as a starting point. History is also alive in Nantillois! Maarten is on hand to tell you more about the actions of World War One that took place in the local area and we can also offer you a guided tour of the immediate surroundings of the village or guided tours in the surrounding area. We are pleased to invite you to our friendly Bed&Breakfast 14-18 Nantillois.
