Upon arrival at the hotel the staff were very attentive, checking us in and giving us a tour of the property. The hotel is very old and characterful. We were helped to our room with our luggage. The room was gorgeous, only issue for me was no stand up shower but this is to be expected in such an old... More

We stayed in Nimes on our way to Carcassonne and had never stayed before. What a lovely clean city with so much to see. The water gardens and amphitheater are must see attractions. The Hotel was lovely set in its own private garden with smallish pool but very relaxing. One thing to point out is this is an old property... More

I would like to say that we stayed here and that we had a lovely time. Unfortunately we booked a room, some time in advance, for the end of July so that we could attend my cousin's 80th birthday. However, she has since become unwell and so we decided that, for the moment, we would have to cancel our booking... More

... and it looked so good, based on the photos on the website. By the hefty prices you’d think you might be getting something special. Granted that it is a small, old, quiet nook in the center of the city. Sounds appealing. If only this place could deliver on it’s promise. It’s quaint no doubt; the décor captures the sense... More

Had a great time at this hotel. Photos cannot do it justice. It is beautiful and romantic at every turn. Staff was wonderful and went out of the way to service us. Would highly recommend for anyone trying to get away. The aroma with the jasmine blooming, the sun dancing off the leaves, the birds singing, and the sound of... More

My interior designer wife and I are exceptionally careful in the search for the perfect boutique hotel experience, and have selected gems across the UK, continental Europe, Morocco and South Africa, and Japan. Jardins Secrets is quite simply a category of its own in terms of the striking interiors, peaceful spaces, historical artwork and furniture and delicacy of touch. The... More

I have stayed here for 2 nights and felt it was necessary for me to warn any potential traveller of the outrageous and dishonest commercial policy of this hotel. Some key facts: the breakfast is probably one of the most outrageously priced continental breakfast ever witnessed. A basket of bread and croissants, jam, coffee, 1 orange juice (the second is... It's easy to see why this hotel polarises opinions. On the one hand it is a charming building, with antique-filled salons, a delightful garden and a small but pleasant pool. Its staff were all faultlessly charming and helpful. But as so often happens in similar properties, there is a trade-off between historic ambiance and the need for comfortable and practical... More

Only saving grace was the beautiful colonnade courtyard. Rooms were impractically appointed - small, the worst shower we have ever experienced and unjustifiably expensive extras. Would not return. Pool was also nothing like the pictures - sigh.

“The deluxe suites at ground level have a bit of outdoor space where you can enjoy wine and snacks. The hotel has a policy of no outside food or beverages in main areas. I found the selection on offer some what limited. Breakfast was beautifully served but consisted of rolls, breads & jams with a bit if yoghurt and fruit. At €25 this is a bit steep when for €6 in town you can get the same. Worth it to have a peaceful morning at least once just for the beauty.”

“We treated ourselves to the Lolita room, which is really a bedroom and a sitting room. With all our belongings, plus our Emma (chocolate labrador) it was perfect.”
