We were in Nimes only one night to visit friends, and we chose this hotel because it was close to our friends’ apartment. I’m glad we did. Everyone who worked at the hotel was nice and accommodating. We loved our spacious room that was quiet in spite of the fact it overlooked an outdoor street. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is in a great location, which is its strong point, surrounded by restaurants and the visitor attractions. Rooms and corridors, hot and dark with high ceilings, but the air conditioning works well and the internet was fast. Breakfast - basic so you may like to eat-out. Verdict, good overall but could benefit from brighter decor. I was basing myself in Nimes for a few days so it was a good central location, but of over-nighting in Nimes then try one closer to the station.
Booked via Expedia (I think) we paid about £80 for a night in peak season (night of 31st July) = cracking value! It’s an old building a very short distance from the amphitheater and right in the heart of the old city. You can’t get to it by car. Firstly, a couple of negatives. As an older building there are no lifts so not a good choice of people with mobility challenges. Also, the shower in our room was poor. A hand held, squat in the bath job which had a temperamental mixer. The hot water was extremely hot so getting a decent temperature was a challenge. Secondly, the good. It’s a nice old building, high ceilings, large room. Comfortable bed. Aircon was unobtrusive and worked well. Ideal location. Staff excellent. Quiet location. Very little not to like. Didn’t have the breakfast as 20m away there was a square with two options. I vacillated over whether it should loose a star over the shower and decided that, as I’d happily stay there again despite the bath squatting, it shouldn’t. Have no idea whether a different room would have had made a difference but I write as I find.…
The hotel is located in the pedestrian zone right next to the amphitheater, while the large underground parking is literally 5 minutes. There are many restaurants around the corner opposite the amphitheater. The room has nice atmosphere and good air conditioning. Our room was completely quiet. Breakfast is standard. The staff is very friendly, I am glad that I chose this hotel.
A lovely welcoming hotel in a perfect location in the centre of Nimes. Just 10 minutes walk from the station and bus depot (great shuttle link from the airport) and in sight of the famous amphitheatre. Close to great restaurants and bars, shops and markets. Ideal base for exploring Nimes and the surrounding area.
