Having travelled to Nimes for a special celebration we were let down on our booking by another hotel. We found the Imperator online at very short notice. We received a very lovely welcome, which already gave it a huge headstart! We enjoyed being taken up to our room in the beautiful old lift. The public areas are very impressive. The...

Famous old hotel. From the 30's several famous people stayed here. Breakfast is very good with eggs cooked to order. Classic elevator, just like in the movies. Room key is an adventure with pictures for instructions. Would stay here again anytime

Well it is certainly nowhere near as bad as some reviews have indicated, or perhaps our room did not have some of the issues that others experienced. Sure, it is a little less than perfect in terms of being kept up to date but strangely that's part of the charm. The door locks aren't really that complicated once you use...

This is an older hotel but unpretentious and relaxed. There's a sense of space and comfort and is not a clone of American hotels. The room was neither big nor small. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. It will not suit everybody but it really suited me.

Great ambiance. Old fashioned lift. You need the instructions how to use the key to open the door of your room. Very tight around the bed, the night stands are the size of a dinner plate, had to move the chair to get to the small closet, the commode is very low, in miniature stall. Understanding that the hotel is...

Hotel that has kept its style from the 1930s, which we really liked. The service was really great and the food was very good (the fois gras entre was just delicious, the fish was perfectly cooked and the lemon dessert was superb). The room was comfortable and the location was perfect.

OK You take advantage of a good rate by booking in advance and it is non-refundable. I get it! I get it in the same way I don't think abortion should be used as a form of contraception but when unforeseen circumstances BEYOND YOUR CONTROL force you to cancel you would think that either "Booking.con" or the hotel would tell...

I was expecting a good 4 star hotel with the charme of past days...it was really charmy and historic, but the room was quite worn down and not worth the stars. The bed was excellent though, but all the rest wasnt. TV didnt really work, same for minibar. Shower took like 3 minutes to get warm and was full of...

I stayed here with a big group. First off, the hotel is located very near to the old town and the main attractions like the Maison Carree and the Arene. Hotel is old style and the rooms evoke another era. Once you get used to it, it is actually quite fitting for the occasion. The ancient lift is rather slow...

Avoid this hotel like the plague. It is the dirtiest, scruffiest most run down hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. In addition many chairs in the restaurant were broken and the food was second rate.
