On the plus side is the location, just off Place Comedie. We had an extrta bed in our room and that made it a bit cramped but it was clean and serviceable. The towells were good but the plumbing was poor: the loo continued to flush unless you lifted the top of the cistern up each time you used it....

I spent 3 night in the hotel on a girly break. the staff was friendly, but not always as informative as we needed eg. with directions and buses. the room was good, nice balcony. but the whole hotel was a little bit out of fashion. location was really great, just 15 mins from train station, and close to supermarket, to...

I've had great success with TripAdvisor reviews, but I feel that I was misled about the Hotel Kalliste. My experience there was definitely poor, though the location is admittedly great. It is less than a minute from the Place de la Comédie, which is in the heart of Montpellier, and right next to a tram stop. The downsides, however, are...

Pros: - LOCATION - good value - sufficient rooms Cons: - no parking on street or at hotel, need to use paid parking a few streets away

The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, one block from the centre of Montpellier. The room (double) was very small, but it had a quite nice balcony. The staff was kind and I was able to use wifi for free. The price was very reasonable.

Our room did have a bit of a smelly drain problem, but all in all this hotel is perfect for the price.

The location is good in the heart of the old town above a pedestrianised street but a bit noisy for this reason. The rooms are small with a tiny bathroom, but a cheap option if you need it you get what you pay for (one to two stars...)

My first thought was "this is very European" (read: Spartan, small, no frills). The bathroom smelled strong of mildew, but when I mentioned it they sprayed for the odor. The carpet might not have been updated in a number of years. So it was Spartan, but it was more because of the staff and I warmed up to the Hotel...

I agree with the previous review, the room was an eccentric layout but that added to the charm, was very clean and quiet, best thing was the location. It is value for money in an expensive city, but if the threw breakfast in as well would go up a notch, IMHO.

Our room was oddly-shaped (!) but was clean and had all the necessaries including AC. Well-located - not far from the main rail station and within seconds of the Place de la Comedie. Ideal for anyone who just needs something clean, safe and cheap. There was a noisy bar next door to the hotel but somehow it did not disturb...
