This place is right out of the story books. High ceilings, beautiful antiquated charm. Pluses: great breakfast Perfect location for the castle and the city In room fridge and safe PARKING Minuses: WIFI Hard horrible bed and lousy pillows. Ancient, threadbare bed linens with an old wool blanket. CLEAN? No elevator, 2 huge flights of stairs to drag the bags...

We spent three nights at this very comfortable and well appointed B&B. Our room was large, well decorated and though at the front of the house, very quiet. The room had lots of storage, a large bathroom with a bath and shower hose, which we found very convenient. There was also free Wifi, a fridge, mini-bar and room safe. The...

We has 3 fabulous nights at this beautifully restored house. I had the front bedroom with the bath and could not fault the room. It overlooks the main road but I could not here any traffic and the air conditioning meant there was no need to open the windows if it was hot. The window in the huge bathroom was...

We stayed 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It has been very tastefully renovated with beautiful decor and fixtures and fittings. The breakfasts were lovely and the host, Bernard, was attentive and friendly. We could not have been better situated for both the old medieval and new city.

This house has been entirely renovated and offers all the convenience of a modern hotel in a charming decor. The rooms are very spacious. The bathrooms updated. We had a room with a view of the garden and the city walls. The medieval city is only a 10 mn walk. We had dinner at the Marquières, we highly recommend this...

The house is beautiful and has been refurbished recently with great taste, and the hosts were very nice and welcoming. The garden is also very nice, with a little fountain. The room with stayed in was very spacious and bright, with big windows overlooking the garden - we could even see the citadelle from one! The bathroom was also very...

We asked for a quiet room on the garden side (back) of the property, which is exactly what we got. Ground floor, very quiet. A charming room, and very cool (it was extremely hot outside). We really liked this old property which had lots of character and had been modernised in a very sympathetic way. Breakfast (very good bread and...

Demuere Saint Louise is all you might expect of a French Chateau - and more. Beautifully decorated, each room is unique. It was a treat to enjoy a luxurious bath and relax in a spacious room. The comfort of the bed and the room, the 'salon' and the dining room were breathtakng. The door handles are antique but locks are...

We stayed one night on our way home. The house is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean.IThe main selling point for us was its proximity to the mediaeval city (10 minute walk) and also close to the footbridge across the river to the rest of Carcassonne. Our bedroom had a great view of the city, spectacularly illuminated at night. The proprietor,...

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews I've read re this place as our own experience was very positive. In fact my daughters favourite place to stay so far on our trip to France. The place is ideally located - a short walk up hill to the medieval village and only 5-10 mins as well from the Bastide. The...
