A last minute trip brought us here. Don't expect anything luxurious! However brilliant value for money, rooms very tired but kept clean, staff helpful, location just perfect. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting on a budget!

Stayed here with my wife for 1 night in December 2016. The hotel is clean, the rooms are smallish but all french hotel rooms seem to be, and it is well located about a 10/15 minute walk from the medieval city and the canal du midi. Breakfast was cheap and plentiful, buffet style, 6 euro's each. Parking is not included...

We stayed there just for 1 night in May 2016. It's a comfortable place, very clean and close to both the train station and historical centre. The lady at the desk is really wonderful, she was very helpful and gave us precious tips. If we ever return to Carcassonne, we'll surely stay there again.

Great location for medieval city, railway station, shops and restaurants. Very good value for money. Airport circular bus stops at the train station which is a 5 minute walk away. Hotel is very 'French' with clean small rooms and a very tiny functional shower room. Although the hotel is on the main road our room was at the back and...

Stayed at the Au Royal with my husband last week for a short city break. Was a bit apprehensive having read the reviews before we left but given the good value the hotel was very adequate for our needs. Although old, our room was big and clean. Only downside was road noise at night as its situated on the main...

The location was great, the staff was kind. Good hot water and water pressure. But the room I was in was hot and facing the street so I did not get much sleep given that the lack of AC meant I had to keep the window open and it was loud. The bed was ok. But it was a quick...

After reading many of the previous reviews my boyfriend and I were a little worried. However on arrival we were greeted and given a very informative welcome including a map and full descriptions of the distance to find points of interest. Our room had been given an uplift with paint and new bed sheets and flooring. We did not try...

Centrally located for Carcassonne centre and La Cite. Very nice owner (/manager?) and excellent friendly service. She let us keep our bikes safe in her garage parking. Very good value. Good breakfast. Basic room but well ventilated and good ceiling fan for the heat of the city in August.

Nice hotel, located very near the centre of the lower town (Bastide) and only 10 mins walk from the old town. The hotel is not very modern, there's no elevator. The room was large and neat, and so was the bathroom with shower and toilet. Our beds were made every day. The staff was very friendly, but did not speak...
