This hotel is extremely overrated. Rooms are strange and not in good shape for the very high price they charge. The Director was even threatening me during my stay when I complained about the quiality. Decided to move to Madarin Oriental which turned our Visit into the success we both expected. I strongly sugest - Choose another alternative. Hotel Seven... More

Me and my husband stayed here as part of our honeymoon in August. We found the hotel easily and it is in a great bohemian location that is close to Sacre Cour. The room was very clean and excellently designed (we had the room with the burgundy velvet walls) and had a hammam in the bathroom that was a lovely... More

This little hotel is located in a gated community in the heart of Monmartre. Each of the 4 rooms is decorated by a different artist. It's luxurious and decadent. Strange and beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. And the cocktails from the bar are great. The area is very bohemian with lots of great restaurants and bars. Recommend it for... More

I booked this hotel as a birthday treat for my boyfriend. We were going to Paris for the weekend, arriving early on Saturday morning and leaving Sunday evening and I wanted somewhere nice for us to stay, somewhere a bit special. I found this hotel on the Guardian website, which rated it highly so had a look. Thought it was... More

Stuck behind a gate on the rising Avenue Junot is this amazing boutique hotel, entered by pushing a reasonably hidden buzzer. The door opens onto an alley in which there are four buildings, of which Batiment D is the Hotel... On arrival, you have the impression that this is someone's house, just kitted into a designed hotel which is no... More

A unique and special property, secluded behind gates down a hidden passage, this former mansion is a cross between Parisian avant guarde and Hollywood and the Sunset strip '70's. There are only five suites but the staff ratio provides first class service. The gardens are a study in planning, every nook detailed. This is truly an alternative to the 5... More

Great boutique hotel. If you want to get away from the ‘tourist’ aspect of Paris and experience a true Parisian life style, this is the hotel for you. Small hotel but the rooms are spacious, well equipped and delightfully decorated. Our suite #4 had a spar bath……..not cheap but well worth the extra $$$ as we had a very memorable... More

This was a stay to remember. I love it. The garden is stunning, the townhouse really nice, the lobby great, the rooms surprising. I fel in love immediately and had a great great 4 days stay. I used the garden as working space. It's a gem. It's my favorite in Paris. It's my secret tip.

While doing a hotel search I came across this unique 5 room Villa hotel and I was very intrigued, however, I reluctantly booked it because it is in such an odd location. The GOOD: This beautifully renovated Montmartre Villa feels like a posh private residence - hence the name I guess. Even though it is a hotel, it feels more... More

You'd be somewhat reluctant to relegate it to the traditional yet trendy category, yet the hotel particulier has intentionally drawn extensively on this hybrid approach. We are both Architects and appricate beautiful unique hotels. The decoration in your hotel looks absolutely divine. We are very happy is the junior suite. Call Vegetale. Next time were in Paris we can get... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

“Our room was fab but as they're all different styles make sure you know where you're staying beforehand - it's a lot of money to spend if you don't like the wallpaper! I would imagine the ones facing front are lovely as the sun hits that wall (west facing?) and the flowery room looks great”
