The location is perfect: in the heart of the Latin Quarter, just a few minutes' walk from iconic cafes like Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore. The hotel itself is a small gem and magical piece of history. Oscar Wilde died here, and all kinds of figures from Ava Gardner to Jean Cocteau have stayed here. Each room is...

L'Hotel is undoubtedly a beautiful space, but if you are looking anything close to 3 star service you will be sorely disappointed. It is easier to list here the things that went wrong: 1. I arrived to meet my fiance who had just landed in to London only to be told at reception that he had checked in the day...

L'Hotel was my 1st 5-star hotel, so I was a bit apprehensive that it would be above my game. The staff was top-notch and professional, but immanently approachable, fun, and friendly. They immediately put my fears to rest. There were just a couple of minor issues with the room, which were quickly tended to. This is a hotel I'd enjoy...

This is a place where the new world meets the old. Discrete and sensual, (apparently it used to be a 'knocking shop' many years ago). with staff who look after you every step of the way. You know you are in 2017, but the moment you are in the Rue des Beaux Arts, surrounded by galleries and cafes (around the...

My husband has had his eye on this hotel for a while and decided to book it as a surprise for my birthday. We arrived on Friday for a long weekend, leaving early in the morning on Monday. For me, it was the perfect weekend and birthday experience! The best aspect of the hotel is its Michelin starred restaurant. We...

We did a lot of research before choosing this hotel in Saint-Germain-des-Pres and we're glad we stayed here! We were in Room 22 for five nights from 20-12 to Christmas Day. The hotel deserves its 5-star ranking. Well appointed rooms, great breakfast in the morning, fantastic location and excellent General Manager in Julien. The location is a short walk to...

We stayed at L'Hotel for Saint Sylvestre/New year last year and found the hotel to be very special, quirky with dramatic, over the top interiors in a splendid location. The room was tiny but fun, so we didn't mind. Stairways very beautiful. However, what we missed was some public space to sit down and relax (especially when there is no...

L’Hotel (Paris) is a Left Bank gem, just a couple of blocks from the Pont Neuf and Saint Germaine du Pres, and easy walking distance to Paris’ top attractions and to Metro stops for three different lines. For three nights we were in a small suite, but large bath, including tub and separate shower and then upgraded to the “Apartment”...

As a previous reviewer stated, every room is like a beautifully designed jewel box! Although our guest room was small, we had everything we needed. We did have large pieces of luggage since we were on a 2 week vacation, so not the best - as the closet is tight. This is a hotel I will never forget. Many stunning...

We where wowed by this fabulous luxury hotel. The only problem was a leaky tap, We stayed in the Oscar Wilde suite which was very atmospheric and has a lovely private terrace complete with sun loungers. We also had a wonderful in the restaurant in this hotel complete with some rather eccentric other guests! This is a once in a...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
