Belleville / Père Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.

We are very experienced travelers and picked this Hotel due to location near a concert venue we were visiting. What a great surprise, this was one of best values for cost we have experienced in Europe. The little artsy map they provide is an essential tour guide for getting

The hotel is located in a diverse neighborhood, where it is easy to shop in a market, walk to numerous bus and train lines and to a wide variety of eateries. I was personally thanked by a shopkeeper for staying within the neighborhood where everyday Parisians live and work, when

Firstly the price. I paid €113 for a room that was very functional. Think Campanile or Ibis-style functional. Bed, ensure, kitchenette area and desk cleverly fitted in. But nothing nice about it, no feeling of comfort, and expensive for what you get. Paris prices! My room was

Thank you for your long review. We appreciate you considered your room as very functional: that's the idea, we want our guests to feel comfortable and independent. Talking about the temperature, each and every room has its own radiators, turn them on or off any time of the year, from January 1sr to Decembre 31st, adjust the temperature as you wish. There must have been a misunderstanding with our concierge: just the corridors and other common rooms are usually not heated before mid october... Sorry for that! With our best regards,

Dear Sandy, You like Eiffel Tower, so do we! 1. You can ride there form the hotel, non problem. Bikes are available everywhere in Paris, Velib is the name of the game. More info on the official velib site. There are 2 velib stations near the hotel. But be aware there is very few special bike lanes in Paris, it might be quite dangerous for a novice. And to come back from the Eiffel Tower, you will have to ride up the hill of Ménilmontant. Metro is more adapted for the return. 2. With the metro, we recommend to start at Ménilmontant (500m from the hotel) and go to Victor Hugo (direct line) and walk 10 minutes to discover the Eiffel Tower from the hill of Trocadéro. A great approach! 3. Please come directly to us by mail for your changes, for sure we will find a way to meet your request. Talk to you soon!

Hi there I stayed and booked through, booking. Com. In September 2015, from my knowledge they only let out a few rooms to travelers. Which are away from the permanent residents. Don't be put off by that, as my first time in France on my own. I had no problems, no hassle or noise the staff are GREAT!!! The rooms are on the ground floor, I had a couple staying in the room next door. You have your own walk in shower, able to cook for yourself, clean room with all the things you could need. And if it's not there ask staff, they will help. I booked and sent an email, asking if I could go to my room, early due to arriving early. Not a problem I did get in earlier than booking time. I had a little wait for my room, only because it was being cleaned. So I sat in there court yard, the cleaner kindly gave me a cold drink and wiped, the chair dry as she just cleaned them. To only good if you speak French, I was not worried as I didn't go to. Sit in a room and watch tv, tip take one off there business cards, with you. As it may help if you get lost. As it's got the address on it, jump in a taxi dropped off right at the door.
