Stayed in the junior suite with 2 adults and 2 children. The suite was small for four people but fine for the one night we were there. The staff were really helpful and friendly and they send out a map of the area before you arrive which is really helpful (although some of the restaurants marked didn’t seem to be there any more). It’s not in the touristy area of Paris but has easy transport links and also the advantage that you can eat out really cheaply (under 30 euros for cous cous for 4 people). The suite was clean and there’s a small kitchen area. Beds were comfortable.

Dear Guests, Thank you for your review. We are happy you enjoyed staying at the hotel and very happy you refer to our helpful staff. Our quartier, Ménilmontant, is changing fast and our home made map we provided to you has been released beginning of the year... Might be some places were closed during the summer? Welcome back!

Overall it was a good hotel, little far from city centre. I stayed only for one night. The kitchen provided is very good. I did not get chance to explore nearby but spent some time at a cafeteria nearby.

Thank you Kauraero for underlining our place is located in a very calm area. To reach city center, we recommend bus line 96, stop is 200m from the hotel, that leads you directly to Hôtel de Ville or Notre-Dame in 20 minutes. For your next stay, do not hesitate to take some time to discover our area, Ménilmontant, with lots of nices places as we recommend on our site and on our home made map. We will be happy to welcome you again,

Cozy place on a quiet col-de-sac with no businesses on the other side of the street. Staffed until 10pm. Small cute courtyard. Studios and rooms with a small bedroom attached available, I was in a studio. Just big enough. Small kitchen area, decent sized bathroom. Didn't feel cramped. Reasonable walking distance to nearest metro station. Lady that runs the place is accommodating, pleasant and attentive. Had some guests in the room next to me with two small boys that were screaming and kicking the walls late at night for a bit too long...she went and talked to them right away and took care of it. The room is made up for you every day complete with chocolate! Wifi worked good so it checked all the boxes. Only small issue I had: The studio I was in is situated on the bottom of a several-stories high apartment building. One night there was music playing loudly and a child screaming way too late at night, but those were not hotel issues, they were the rooms above the hotel if you had a courtyard facing room like I did. There appeared to be other rooms that were not set up like this. But over all, I would definitely stay here again. Good value in a city that has much to see.

My new favorite place to stay in Paris. Friendly and welcoming, comfortable, clean, and a great value. The rooms are beautiful and supplied with more amenities (like a Nespresso machine and pods) than I'm used to encountering. The surrounding neighborhoods are wonderful to explore and the hotel's map of recommended places is excellent. Can't wait to return!

We stayed at Hotel de la Mare for about a week and found it clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and the neighborhood well-located for those who want to stay in Paris but away from the regular tourist centers. There are grocery stores, bakeries, cheese shops, and many transportation options near by. Good restaurants, such as Le Jourdain, are very close by. Others are a short walk or bus ride/metro ride away. And the downstairs rooms have a patio area that is very sweet. Finally, the Parc de Belleville has an outstanding view of Paris- day or night.

I have reviewed Hotel de la Mare on several occasions following my frequent visits to Paris where HDLM is always my preferred option for my stay. No point in writing the same things again, but I just love this hotel - its uniqueness, style, value, personnel, cleanliness, facilities ..... I could go on. The area is 'different' and interesting with great views of the Eiffel Tower close by. A great bar, L'Entrepot's nearby and some very good restaurants also. I will be back a few times during the year and will stay for a week over New Year with my wife. I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE!

We are very experienced travelers and picked this Hotel due to location near a concert venue we were visiting. What a great surprise, this was one of best values for cost we have experienced in Europe. The little artsy map they provide is an essential tour guide for getting around, Bus 96 is nearly at their doorstep and goes direct to the center and many Metro stops. For a 5 Euro a day pass Paris is yours in minutes. The area is fabulous with good Grocery shops and Bistros. You must try L’Entrepot’s also nearly at the doorstep. Wonderful owners and great typical Bistro fare. Remember your Bon Jours and your Ca Va's and you are family.

The hotel is located in a diverse neighborhood, where it is easy to shop in a market, walk to numerous bus and train lines and to a wide variety of eateries. I was personally thanked by a shopkeeper for staying within the neighborhood where everyday Parisians live and work, when indeed there are so many other choices that are available to travelers. It was a great find.

Thank you for your nice review! Our area, Ménilmontant, is getting every year more vibrant and younger: lots of places to discover! And our guests also appreciate the direct 96 bus line which takes you very fast to the center of Paris (Le Marais, Notre-Dame, etc.). We hope to see you back soon!

Firstly the price. I paid €113 for a room that was very functional. Think Campanile or Ibis-style functional. Bed, ensure, kitchenette area and desk cleverly fitted in. But nothing nice about it, no feeling of comfort, and expensive for what you get. Paris prices! My room was just below street level so noise depended on the noise outside but opening the shutters wasn’t an option sadly as passers by would be pretty much in the room. The room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast at €5 sounded like good value but turns out it is a bag breakfast left at your door at 8 am. No comment nail area for breakfast, all space is used for rooms. Lots of tea and coffee, good shower, good towels. Biggest problem is that the room was chilly. I struggled with the radiator then asked the concierge. Unfortunately the hotel heat doesn’t come on until 15 October. So visit after then. Forecast was 5 degrees for tonight

Thank you for your long review. We appreciate you considered your room as very functional: that's the idea, we want our guests to feel comfortable and independent. Talking about the temperature, each and every room has its own radiators, turn them on or off any time of the year, from January 1sr to Decembre 31st, adjust the temperature as you wish. There must have been a misunderstanding with our concierge: just the corridors and other common rooms are usually not heated before mid october... Sorry for that! With our best regards,
