We stayed in this hotel for two nights. We took the RER from Charles de Guallle airport and the train went direct to Luxembourg station which is only a few minutes from the hotel. We arrived around midday and was able to check in to our room straight away which was a bonus. The hotel is only one street away...

Stayed here March 18 to March 24, 2017. Loved it. Have stayed at the hotel 3 times before. Love the area, close to metro, restaurants, and shopping. Easy to walk to all areas in the city. This is my favorite area to stay in the city. The rooms are small, but my husband and I were very comfortable. We pay...

I stayed in this lovely hotel the first two and last two nights of a trip to France. The location is excellent. Within easy walking distance of most places and sites in the Latin Quarter. If you want to go to Monoprix (which has a grocery store in the basement), for example, just turn left on the hotel street, go...

I stayed at the Hotel Design Sorbonne in February which is the third time I have stayed here in Paris. On arrival the check in is quick and easy helped by the excellent reception staff who speak a range of languages if your French is not up to Scratch. The rooms are small as tends to be the case in...

Great hotel for exploring the sites of Paris. Very easy to get to from airpot and stations. Close to some great restaurants. This is my second visit there and just as good ten years on. Clean, comfortable, lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary - it was our first trip to Paris. Hotel is conveniently located a stones throw from Luxembourg metro with easy airport access, or 5-10 minutes walk from Notre Dame/St Michel station. Hotel staff very welcoming & helpful. We booked a 'superior' room which was small but adequate for a short break, beautifully decorated...

My husband and I stayed there for four nights in August last year (2016) and we had a great time (it's in the Quartier Latin, after all!!!). I loved the (literary?) texts on the carpets on the hallways! It was a lovely detail and made me smile anytime I left or returned to the hotel. The entire staff is professional,...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
