Firstly let me state this is a backpackers in the middle of Paris so I wasn't expecting much but I was truely shocked at the staff rudeness and downright theft. We were a large group visiting Paris for the rugby. Alas, the hostel staff entered our locked rooms and went through our bags while we were not in the room....

Everything you could want from a hostel. Free continental breakfast; crossiants, rolls, jam, butter, cereal, juice, milk, coffee. Really we stayed there just to sleep. We were out in the city the rest of the time. There is a small grocery store down the road so buying food and bringing it back was a cheap option. Safes in the room...

I stayed in Woodstock Hostel for a full week. Upon arriving I was greeted by the very charming receptionist who let me store my bag and take a shower much earlier than check in, which I appreciated. I stayed in a four bed dorm. The bunk beds were solid and cosy, always slept pretty well. My dorm had a sink...

I went to this hostel only for two nights for a concert in Paris on December 2012. It is a small hostel, with no outstanding facilities. The main reason why I chosed it it was for the location. I went to a Crystal Castles concert at the Trianon and it is just located three blocks away from it. Also conveniently...

Woodstock hostel was pleasant and I enjoyed my stay. Me and another friend stayed in a shared dorm (6) for 4 nights Mon - Fri and chose woodstock for its location and reasonable price. 30 euro each a night for a room just below pigalle was a cheaper option and it was very close to montmartre, sacrecoeur and Pigalle and...

During our recent exploration of Paris, my wife and I booked a private room at this hostel. Although the cost of the room was slightly over our nightly budget, we are glad that we chose the room that we did. It was nice to be in a room with just the two of us. If you choose to stay there,...

Easy check-in, clean, and offered a kitchen filled with food. Bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was substantial. Just understand that you're going to hostel and you'll be happy with it. Only bad thing was a guy in our room snored. A lot. But the staff can't control that.

there was ONE plug socket in the whole room, between 6 people. we were lucky that a guy in our room brought an extension cord that he let us use. its also above the mirror, so if you were charging your phone, it would just have to dangle over the sink. so awful. unclean toilet and shower, both tiny. the...

For Paris, this hostel have a nice price. The staff are friendly, the breakfast , which is included, is good and is in a good location, close to the bohemian neighborhood Montmatre. And also has a good kitchen. The problem is the bathroom, which is small and has always a line to use, because it's just one per level. Another...

This hostel was quite strange. You don't get your own key to your dorm room, and when someone is already inside the room she's supposed to just leave the door unlocked in case someone else wants to get in. And the door was broken so even if you wanted to lock it you couldn't. The receptionist was also EXTREMELY RUDE....

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
