Second time here, although I enjoy finding new gems and staying in different places, this is home away from home. Great location, great staff. Clean and safe. Your not getting luxury here but if good price and great location is your thing, go here.

Our family of 2 Adults & 2 Teens stayed at the Cluny Sorbonne in the month of July. The hotel is in an excellent location - 1 block from the Pantheon, next to Sorbonne Univ, 6 minutes walk to River Seine. The staff are very helpful & acomodating. There is no air conditioning & we had to request for 2...

Small plain hotel with small rooms, good service, nice managers. Remember this is paris however and people are allowed to smoke in their rooms - with their windows open it drifts directly into yours. Good location next to a small square with fountain and cafe restaurants. Overall good value for price and location.

Our first trip to Paris began on a good note when we checked in at the Hotel Cluny. SInce it was early we were able to just drop off our bags and go on our way. We were on the 5th floor with a view of the Pantheon (which was lovely to watch the flag waving at night with the...

We had quad room for 205 euro a night in July. We loved the area. In 5th, but almost in 6th. Very close to Pantheon. The reputation that 5th has for being too tacky or touristy not evident here. Central enough for many sites. We got in very late because of the overrated Iceland Air (told by other passengers that...

First off, to be fair, the front desk people and maids are very sweet. We would rate them six out of five! However, the walls at this hotel are so paper thin, we could hear everything from the next room as if there were no walls at all. The internet was the worst we've ever experienced, it was very difficult...

I stayed at the Cluny Sorbonne on my first trip to Paris and I fell in love with this hotel and my beautiful on the fifth floor that opened out to a view of the Sorbonne and the Pantheon. While I visited the weather was cool and mild so I did not need air conditioning. I was traveling solo but...

We were there for 8 days in the heat of the summer. In a lovely quiet little side road just up from the ridiculously cool Place Sorbonne this is a little gem. We had a street facing upper floor room which allowed us to watch the early sun rays over the roof tops of the Sorbonne ...an added bonus. We...

This is the perfect little hotel for the Paris tourist in the know, Great location, reasonable price and the rooms, while fairly small, have everything you need and none of the expensive frills you don't need. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. My partner and I recently stayed there for a week and loved it. Within walking distance of many...

Overall, my favorite hotel in Paris - both for price and location. As budget travelers (my adult daughter and I) we stayed here and in the 7th on our recent trip. I found the Latin Quarter the most accessible both price-wise and walking-wise. Our other hotel was on Rue Cler and it was lovely, but pricey. The management is top...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
