I loved this place!. It is situated in Montmartre , a beautiful neighborhood filled with artists. It is close to Sacre Coeur and other sights. For people that loved the Amelie movie, that is the best place to stay. You can follow Amelie's footsteps ( we did it and it was great). In the morning, when you go out, you...

We stayed 5 nights at Caulaincourt Square hostel and loved it. Upon arrival we were put into a room with a bathroom despite booking and paying for one without, so it was off to a good start. The breakfast was really good and there was plenty of it. Staff were more than happy to help if you asked. We really...

Travelling with 2 other friends to Europe for a month long escapade, this was our first stop. We were really excited to stay here, as we had been reccomended it by several friends and the ratings looked excellent! I wouldn't say I was overjoyed at this place - very mellow and dull in atmosphere, poor service, small rooms, but Paris...

The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Oddly they had a shower in the corner of the room (no bathroom) hardly separated from the carpet of the bedroom. So we had wet carpet for most of the stay. Toilet was in the hall. The free breakfast was decent and we had a choice of croissants, rolls and cereals along...

Nice place to stay, near Montmartre, with a metro station near by to go to the centre, free wi-fi, the rooms and the bathroom are very small but clean, the only bad thing are the receptionist, very unfriendly and unhelpful and that check in starts until 4.00 pm so if you arrive in the morning you wont be able to...

I stayed here to be near Montmartre. Great location close to the metro and nice restaurants and cafes. I stayed here at the start of my trip in a private room which was really nice, and then at the end of my trip in a dorm, which was very cramped and had awful bunks. Breakfast is great and there is...

This small hostel is located just behind monmatre hill, in a quiet part of the city. The hostel is close enough to the subway station. My room was not super clean but ok for the priced I paid, I spent most of my time outside. The guy at the front desk helped me out to buy train tickets online. Good...

Pros- good location, close to the station and quick to get in to the centre. I didn't go to Montemarte but it seems very close. Cons- there's not really a common room, but just the reception area which doesnt have enough space for the number of people staying there, so the first night I was there, there were facebooking teenagers...

A friend and I on holiday in Paris chose this property as our primary place to lodge. It was a pretty average hostel and its only faults were with other guests, so not something the hostel could control since that's the risk you take when you stay in dormatories. We found the room in a clean condition everyday. We did...

I travel quite a lot and I usually stay in budget hotels, but this one has been so far the worst of all. I stayed in a double bedroom with private bathroom and toilet for seven days. There was dust mixed with hair all over the floor. I wonder if it has ever been cleaned? I also found some hair...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
