This is a beautiful hotel but the rooms are far to small for three guests, we paid more for the Privilege Triple room, on arrival thinking we'd been given the wrong room I went down stairs to reception to inquire, the man we spoke to was rude & arrogant he told me all the rooms are the same size and...

Dear Marietta, I am surprised to read about your disappointement only now. I wished you had come to me at day time. First of all, I want to apologize about "M Rude & Arrogant", I don't know who you are writing about but I will try to find out. I was on reception every morning from 7am to 2pm at...

Hotel Saint-Jacques is in a great place to use the metro system and just a couple min walk to the Pantheon and Notre-Dame. The room was beautifully decorated, air conditioned, and the bed was quite comfortable. The tub was small, but still large enough to bathe in. I had a balcony with table and chairs. On Friday night there was...

We wanted to stay somewhere convenient in the 5th or 6th arr with a Parisian style balcony. We had large luggages with us so the hotel receptionist upgraded us to the superior room on level 5. The hotel was quite old fashioned so the furniture and interior were quite old. The lift was also very small so we had to...

My husband and I stayed here 3 years ago in a corner 6th floor Classic room. We loved it as it was quiet and felt private. We booked a classic again for this trip and upon our check-in were told that we had been "upgraded". The room was on the 1st floor corner and was very noisy (traffic and voices...

The Saint-Jacques is a lovely little boutique hotel in the Latin Quarter of Paris, just down the road from the Sorbonne. It's withing walking distance of Notre Dame and the museums and was a great base for a romantic weekend in Paris. The room was beautifully decorated, and surprising quiet considering how close we were to the centre of town....

We stayed here on a quick get away for a few days during the kid's Thanksgiving break from school. Everything about the hotel was pleasant and in order. We rented three rooms on the top floor and had the whole floor pretty much to ourselves. We very much liked the location since it is just a few blocks to the...

Amazing decor, clean room, very helpful staff. Good location - close to metro station which makes getting around Paris very easy. Nice eateries near to the hotel where it. E for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there's lots of choice near by. Pantheon isn't far at all from the hotel and from there you can walk easy to the Luxembourg gardens.

A pleasure ! The Saint Jacques hotel makes you feel the pleasure of traveling to Paris. The attention of the staff given to guests is one of the highlights of this hotel. The boss M. Rosseau, always attentive to the details, does not let exist a single fault. Congratulations to the beautiful and comfortable hotel

I've stayed in many hotels in Paris, and most were disappointing in some way. But the quality of service, the homey ambiance and the perfect location of the St. Jacques Hotel has shown me that not all Paris hotels are the same. I travel alone, and I felt safe in this neighborhood at night. There are terrific restaurants within minutes...

We had a room for three. The room was furnished and decorated quite lovely. But with our luggage ,there was barely room for the three of us to move. The bathroom also was tiny, there is something to be said about cleaning your teeth while sitting on the toilet and be able to reach the basin. We found David was...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
