We checked the reviews before we booked the hotel, but as it was a last minute deal everything else was further out or 2*. Check in was fine, as previous reviews suggested the room could harldly fit a bed, couldn't stand under the shower, the pillows were lumpy and thin, but the room was clean. We had breakfast on two...

This Hotel is no near a 4*. I would rate it as a 2 or a 3*. The room had just enough space for the bed.... and not much else. Our booking was incorrect.... so they (hotel staff) decided to call our room at 1am to tell us. (we checked in just before midnight) I in turn asked them, which...

My partner and i stayed at the hotel last week. We were there 2 nights in room 403. First things first the hotel is not 4 star, more like a 3 star. Our room was a bit small but did the job for us both. We liked the decor, not high class but at least there had been some imagination...

Clean enough, good enough location, friendly reception staff, but a tiny hotel with absolutely no facilities and a room barely big enough for the bed. We came back bruised from bumping into the iron door fittings that go to make up the ambience! Definitely not 4 star and no good if you want more than somewhere to sleep.

Ok, how many people going to Paris actually spend a lot of time in their hotel room? Yes, the rooms are small. But you're only using it as a base. We had room 305 which another reviewer has written about... and there wasn't a view.... but so what???? Surely, you go into Paris to find views? I agree that perhaps...

Can not understand why some were so unhappy with this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy. I must agree that the room was a little small but really didn't bother us as was only using the hotel as a base whilst spending the day out...

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and I hated it. I stayed there in 2003 and had a wonderful time but the hotel has had a change of ownership and it shows. I requested a non smoking room well in advance, we got a smoking room that stunk of cigarettes, complete with ashtray! I immediately asked...

I really do not know why people are complaining about this hotel, they have obviously not done their research on the area of the hotel etc so they really dont have an excuse complaining about the location. As for the rooms we personally didnt have a problem. We stayed in room 401 and it was lovely,it was on the top...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
How would you know, before actually entering the Villa Royale Montsouris, that you would be crossing the Mediterranean? The lobby, decorated in Andalusian-Moorish style, is a perfect representation of the charms of the Orient. Colonnades and vaulted ceilings, copper, zelliges and wrought iron make the hotel look like a traditional Moroccan riad. Combine the stories of One Thousand and One Nights with draperies, sheer curtains and precious fabrics and the rooms seem to jump straight of oriental palaces. The elements of the decor bring brightly-coloured touches to the place: the reds of the floor tiles and the ochres of the earthenware, the Majorelle blue of the doors, which, when closed, make Paris seem very far away. In this exotic and wonderful universe, the service provided by the attentive staff add a personal note to the unique charm of the establishment, located in a peaceful district of the Capital, near the Parc de Montsouris and the tram that’s a direct connection with the Porte de Versailles Convention and Exhibition Centre. ... more   less
