We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights from 5th May 2017 The hotel is in a quiet area and an excellent location across the road from Les Jardins du Luxembourg and about a 15 minute walk down the Boulevard St Michel to the Seine crossing the river by Notre Dame cathedral As mentioned by other reviewers the hotel is...

Clean and comfortable with typically charming Parisian quirks, such as an elevator that fits two people or one person and two suitcases. The room was on two levels--when you walk in there's a sofa and a small closet under a stairwell housing the mini-fridge and shelving for storage, I guess. There's also a door, which I thought was a closet,...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review about Hotel Le Senat. Hotel le Senat is a small unique hotel located on the left bank in the Latin quarter just steps from Jardin du Luxembourg. There are many pubs and charming restaurants in the area. I come to this hotel for many years, I always enjoyed its perfect location ( close from garden of Luxembourg, carrefour de l'odeon, boulevard Saint-Germain...) surrounded by charming restaurants, the spirit of the hotel and its staff who are fully dedicated to make you stay the best possible. Great location , a real oasis in the frenetic pace of tourist Paris. Small rooms but well equipped and very clean. Speedy breakfast useful on checking out day. We got croissants from a bakery so didn't have the full breakfast. Honesty bar a nice touch. Not too expensive compared to others locally.

Located close to the Luxembourg gardens and an easy walk to good restaurants. Small but well appointed rooms. Friendly staff. Minor downside is the narrow street on which it fronts so when taxis stop traffic behind is blocked.

This terrific little hotel is in the Latin quarter, on the left bank, near the Sorbonne University and Notre Dame (the Church started in the 1100s, not the football team stuck in the 1900s). Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
