We stayed at Hotel Royal Fromentin with a large group of friends who were all in town for the same wedding. We arrived one night ahead of the rest of the group and were given a tiny room on the 2nd floor with a view of (and accessible by!) the ugly roof on the back of the 1st floor. We...

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we were looking forward to a beatiful room in Paris, as pictures had shown us that this hotel would provide us with that. We were on the 2nd floor in a single room (dbl bed), and I must say we were dissappointed. Our mattress and pillows were yellowed, which was a...

Being our first time in Paris we had no idea that the 9th arrondisement was the fading red light district of paris. Upon arriving we were greeted by neon signs and specialty shops literally around the corner. The area I have to say is fading, compared to some other red light districts, and there are a lot of tourists, so...

We stayed at the 6th floor of the Royal Fromentine Hotel in Paris, august 2007. Despite all the 'very good' comments on the site we are not that positive. Our room was very small and old. The bathtub shower didn't work very well and waterpressure in the morning was changing, so shower temperature fluctuate, sometimes cold and sometimes too hot....

The rooms are situated in an older building but the rooms were clean and adequate, the washroom including shower is very small but we had no problem with it. The front desk staff were very friendly, they all speak English very well and definitely do their best to help you enjoy your stay in Paris and find what you are...

We were here for one night on May 9th. We had a room on the 1st floor (a big room with 2 full sized beds). It was a little noisy because we kept the windows open but it didn't really bother us. The bathroom in our room could probably use some updating but for one night it was fine. I...

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel in Paris. Our room (located on the 6th floor) gave us a fabulous view on Sacré-Coeur (and the busy street below but, that was worth it!!). The room was a lot bigger than other hotel rooms we previously had in Paris and the price was very good. The breakfast is plenty...

This time I've visited the "ville lumière". I've to say that due to the destination, I've booked the hotel at the end of November for a 5 days visit at beginning of March and in his way I've spared a lot of money, paying EUR 376 for 4 nights, including breakfast. The hotel is in Pigalle quarter, the red zone...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
