It was the worst part of a fantastic week end in Paris. I kindly asked at the moment of reservation that i would like to stay in a lower floor room (i read in tripadvisor that was no elevator). They send me a mail saying that they booked the HIGHER floor! I thought they were wrong, or it was a...

Only the good point of this hotel is the location. All others are of low quality. Therefore, I rated the value =2. Although its web says bath tub is in every room, only a few rooms have it. The rooms are old dark and small with small bed and without bath tub, although it costed about E120 in the late...

This is a reasonable choice for a not-too-expensive hotel on the Left Bank in Paris. The location is fabulous, steps from the St. Germain action, but on a quiet street. My single room was very, very tiny. You sit on the toilet and the sink is practically in your face. The shower is so tight that once my back hit...

Great small hotel tucked away in rue du dragon. Ideally located in saint germain, accessible by direct bus from gare de Lyon. Room 31 small-ish but very clean, freshly renovated as well as the bathroom. only slight disadvantage was the lack of lift to reach the 5th floor, but then again it's part Of the charm of old buildings in...

We stayed here for a couple of nights near the end of june. The area is really nice and safe, but pricey! There are two metro stations nearby, st.geramin de pres and sevres babylone-we actually used sevres babylone more as the line is useful to get back from popular sites when u just can't walk anymore! There are a few...

We booked this hotel as a stopover as we couldn't get into our chosen hotel until the following night (after having changed our travel plans). As we were arriving later in the evening (2100) I looked for a reasonably safe area, somewhere with lots of cafes around, that was also on one Metro line from Gare Du Nord (no changes)...

Not good for girls... vertical hotel with no elevator, so drag your luggage and anything else up and down the narrow curving stairs on your own. Bed was a full size from 2 twins pushed together. Cheap bedding, towels, carpet, window treatments, lighting, etc. The only thing they give you in the bathroom are some packets (yes, flat foil packets)...

We chose this hotel for the location as its on a direct metro line from the eurostar and central to most places of interest. Its certainly no bargain at 133 euros per night, but then from searching the internet there are not a lot of bargains to be had. The room is tiny but clean though I did wonder about...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel du Dragon for four nights. Our room was simple but clean and we were very comfortable. The hotel staff were always available- they even lent us a bottle opener so we could have a bottle of wine in our room. They were very helpful and polite. At night, there was no outside...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
