My husband and I stayed at the Hotel de l'Avre in October and found our room lacking. The bed, linens and drapes were extremely old and the room was stifling and musty. The location is good and we encountered no problems with the staff, but trust me, none of that will matter to you when you've been up all night...

Stayed two nights at this hotel in early November 2004, with my mother and stepdaughter. The hotel is in a fantastic location, near the Tower and train stations, yet off the beaten path so you don't get all the street noise. Bernard was very pleasant and helpful, but it seemed that some of the rest of the staff couldn't be...

Spent 4 nights from 29 Dec '04 to 2 Jan '05 at Hotel de l'Avre. It was great value for money. Room quite small but very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel is a very short distance to the nearest Metro. All in all an ideal hotel for a short break in Paris.

We booked this hotel by email for our 2 night stay, 27 & 28 December, after reading all the good reviews and it certainly didn't let us down. There were three couples in our party and we had two 'street' and one 'garden' room which were on the small side but very clean and nicely decorated, equipped with a TV,...

I have just got back from a 2 night stay at the Hotel L'Arve and I thought it was brilliant. In a lovely little area close to supermarkets, restuarants and cafe's and very close to the nearest Metro Picquet Grenalle. Bernard is very friendly and the room (a twin at 77E) was clean with a TV and a really nice...

I am surprised at all the recent negative reviews for this hotel. I have just got back from a weekend in Paris and stayed in this hotel. For the price you get a nice clean room if a little small. For 80 euros for a twin room I wouldn't have expected anything more. The area is a local area which...

I agree with the recent reviews describing it as a bit shabby around the edges. I'd booked this hotel after reading many glowing reviews here, choosing between it and one located in a more chic district, and I wish I'd chosen the chicer location. While the neighborhood seems safe and residential, it's quite quiet and not close to anything much...

It's so convenient having three lines of subway half a block away and the Monoprix just around the corner. The market where they sell everything from fresh meat, produce, flower shop, shoes, clothes and fresh baked goods is just under a subway line. It made me feel like a local. They set up in the morning and tear down at...

I do not recommend this hotel. It needs some work; the drapes need to be cleaned as well as the blankets. Drapes not hung properly. I left after two nights because the cleanliness was not up to my standards. Hotel staff is not friendly as some have written in their personnel reviews. Good things are that it is close to...

Our room was on the top floor facing the street. The street was very quiet and the room was very clean with a comfortably sized bathroom. Staff were very friendly and the location was great. I'd totally recommend this hotel, especially considering the bargain price!
