I'm tempted to say this hotel would be ideal for a wealthy, deaf dwarf as it is very expensive, the room is subject to traffic noise from the adjacent Boulevard Raspail and is tiny, But it's only the same as a lot of other establihments in Paris. The TV only shows the dire French channels from TNT and some of...

The Istria is my hotel of choice in Paris. In this quiet corner of Montparnasse, I feel like a traveler, not a tourist. It's a paradise for lovers of literature, music, and art of the 1920s and 30s. The final scene of Godard's Breathless was filmed on rue Campagne Première. Eric Satie, Louis Aragon, Elsa Triolet were just some of...

Everything was fine globally but still me came make a few remarks. - The rooms are very small. Not even enough space to open your luggage. - The bathroom is clean but a little bit falling apart. The ceiling was broken and the lights falling. - Careful with the breakfast. Not enough croissants and pains au chocolat for everyone.

Very good value although the rooms are small but otherwise we'll appointed. The location next to the metro was a bonus. The breakfast was adequate but was included in the room rate for our booking. Montparnasse is close and has plenty of eating places.

A boutique style hotel set in a quite street but close to all amenities. Simple in style but clean and very welcoming. In the street there were good restaurants a bar and a little supermarket with many more restaurants close by.

For a good nights' sleep and hopping onto the metro, this hotel is perfect. Also walking distance to Fondation Cartier museum, good raclette and seafood restaurants. Little toiletries, soft bed and mini-fridge in room in case you stock snacks/drinks.

Dear "Minerva H", Thank you very much for your comment, we appreciate ! Also, thank you for mentioning two of your sources of joy : "Fondation Cartier museum" and "good raclette"... French food will remain fantastic against all odds ;) Seriously, you're definitely right : one of the best raclette parisian restaurants (and also sea food restaurant) is near the...

Location was good for restaurants and right next to a tube station. Air conditioning worked well in a very hot week in Paris. Room faced the rear court yard so was quiet. Hotel is modern. Breakfast was very basic for the money. Room safe was difficult to access so gave up. Main room light didn't work and even though I...

I'd stayed in a few areas of Paris during Euro 2016, but found Montparnasse to be by far the best, so went back to this area a month later with the wife. Hotel Istria is very well located there, right beside the Raspail metro station, and within a 5/10 minute walk from others linking you to anywhere in Paris, including...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
