A hotel centrally located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It meets expectations however don't arrive with large suitcases as the rooms are typical of a Parisian hotel........cosy. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the local area,

The experience was good. The hotel is very well located, clean and the team was very nice. Just few issues during my stay that could have been improved: * When we arrived in the room (it was quite early, around 1pm). The bottle of water provided by the hotel was open, and half empty. When we went to the lobby,...

A warm comfortable and welcoming hotel in a quiet side street opposite the Sorbonne but close to shops, good restaurants and public transport links. We found that the 62 bus goes from the bottom of the street directly to the Champs Elysees area. There is also a nice walk across Luxembourg gardens to Tour Montparnasse - fabulous views from the...

This hotel has a perfect location. It is close to the main sights but far from the mass tourism areas so it's calm and quiet. The rooms are pretty small not like in other Mercure hotels. The walls are thin - our neighbours were very "active", at the end it was almost good for us, as well :) Don't expect...

You could say that the hotel is not very modern but isn't it a charming place in a very charming location. The welcome is always friendly, every time I come here I experience the 'coming home' feeling. No it isn't modern but I like the old fashioned personal touch. The hotel is right in the heart of Paris literally and...

Rooms are typical Mecure clean, modern and functional Not luxurious but you get what you pay for It is small only 24 rooms but that adds to its appeal Best bit is the location just outside of the touristy Latin quarter but still with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops Service of main staff was terrific Always willing to help

I am writing this on my last night, so I don't forget details. First, the hotel is in a great location in the latin quarter. I walked everywhere, including Marais, the Louvre, Orsay and Les Halles with no issue. plus this whole area, which is replete with shops and restaurants and parks. Somewhat upscale, but very nice. The rooms are...

Perfect location to do a lot of sightseeing. La Sorbonne and Le Quartier Latin are around the corner; same for Le Jardin du Luxemburg where you could enjoy jogging. I loved the bedroom, quiet, calm and clean. Definitely, I will stay there again. The receptionist (sorry I forgot the name) was really friendly and I enjoyed our chats.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
