I book through the sol melia hotel chain website;sometimes there are very discounted hotel rates, mine was a 50% off for two nights. With this price the hotel was a very good value, our room was in the third floor, all non smoking, average size, big bathroom, all very clean. With windows at Boulevard Montmartre, the nights are noisy, so I need the earplugs. Breakfast is expensive for...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Tryp Francois for three nights, early Dec '07. It was easy to find- we walked from the Roissy bus stop at Opera which took around ten minutes (I recommend getting this bus from the airport- very easy!)- and check-in was simple. The staff were helpful and their english was good. The hotel is...

I booked the Tryp Francois Hotel with 2 other friends for our trip to Paris. The hotel is non-descript from the outside, and you are greeted by a double pair of glass doors which you need to manouevre to get inside the reception area, ie you need to open a first set of glass doors (tirez!) to get inside a...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location was great and our room was very clean, but so small that we had no room for even our suitcases. You had to inch your way around the bed and into the tiny bathroom. The hallways and lift also only accomodated one person and a small suitcase. The staff were...

We stayed at this hotel in April 2005. When we arrived they'd had problems with all the rooms on one floor and so, for our first night, we stayed at their sister hotel, Tryp Blanche Fontaine, in the Montmartre district. Although this is not the best start to a weekend away, the staff were very apologetic and paid for a...

My husband and i stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, we had spent alot of time looking for hotels in paris but found it hard to chose one as they all looked quite small and expensive! This hotel turned out to be much better that what we had expected! The rooms were a little small and the view out...

My wife & I stayed at this hotel on our recent trip to Paris/France for our honeymoon. Upon arrival, the receptionist who claimed to speak english let me go throught the whole check in proceedure-ie introducing ourselves, mentioning that we had a reservation etc etc, only to get a blank stare back..followed by silence, followed by " I dont understand...

My husband and I got back yesterday from the Tryp Francois. To be honest all we were looking for was a reasonably priced and clean hotel within walking distance to all the sites. This is exactly what we got. We actually were able to work off our croissant breakfasts and brasserie meals by venturing out on foot without the usual...

I have to strongly disagree with the previous comment, we stayed there from June 17th to 22nd and found it to be a wonderful hotel in a great location. The staff were very helpful, all spoke English, and were most accomodating when we checked in early and had to check out at 4am to get to the airport. We had...

This place is to be avoided at all costs. When we arrived the receptionist denied that i had made a restervation and made me print out a copy from my email. He was rude and unhelpful and at first i thought he was in a bad mood but it turned out he represented the culture of the hotel. We had...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
