Among the Parisian buildings which hold the most extraordinary stories, there are hotel windows behind which are the loveliest dreams. Nobly established right in the heart of Paris’s Golden Triangle, the Grand Powers Hotel has shared in an adventure with connoisseurs of beauty and travellers from around the globe since 1920. After welcoming guests for almost 100 years, the hotel is being rejuvenated, a total transformation from the inside out. The haussmannien architecture, typical of the quartier is revisited with new decor inspired by the best elements in design: Italien sensuality, Parisian chic and old English cosiness, with the intention to provide new experiences for its guests who have come to revel in its elegance.

My partner and I stayed at the Grand Powers for a couple nights in October. Here's how important this hotel choice and experience was for me: I planned to propose to my partner in the room, and I did! And she said yes!

I chose the room (a junior suite) in part because I wanted a really romantic place with a view of the Eiffel Tower. The room didn't disappoint. Now, just to be clear, the view of the Eiffel Tower is fairly limited; it's some distance away and only the top third is visible. So, you have to manage your expectations; it's not like the tower is steps from the hotel. But, the thing I found interesting is that the part that's visible rises from the cornice line of some beautiful, old, ornate buildings on nearby blocks. I viewed the scene in this way: Not just the Eiffel Tower, but part of the beautiful rooflines of an elegant block in Paris. All of it together was very pretty and romantic.

One other little caveat: The outdoor terrace for these rooms is very small. I'm 6' 4", and I did a fair amount of contorting and shimmying over and around the area to sit comfortably in a chair. That said, it's quite charming and pleasant to sit out looking at the Eiffel Tower. Again, you just have to manage your expectations a bit and not envision a sprawling terrace.

The room itself was quite nice. It's a minor quibble but I questioned the artwork on the walls a little; it didn't seem to match the elegance of the room. But overall it was a very comfortable place.

The biggest compliment I would give to the hotel is of its staff and service. They were uniformly excellent. They all seemed to really care about doing a good job and helping guests. I'll give one example: At one point my partner ordered a cappuccino from room service. I cringed a little, wondering if we would be waiting a half hour for something we could get in a minute at any cafe. In fact, someone delivered the drink in literally 4-5 minutes. They must have prepared it within the minute we ordered, which was very impressive.

Our reservation came with breakfast, and we enjoyed it. The restaurant area is a pretty, comfortable area and the food selection was ample.

The location of the hotel is quite good. We arrived by train at Gare du Nord and it's not walkable from the train station (we took an Uber), but once at the hotel we found the major sites to be within walking distance. The Champs Elysses and thus Arc de Triomphe are very close by, and we walked to the Louvre and Notre Dame twice. Those take a little time to walk to (about 15-20 minutes). In the other direction, we walked to a performance at the Crazy Horse, which is very close by, and continued on after the show to the Eiffel Tower, which is also about 15-20 minutes from the hotel.

Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel. The location is very good and the staff is fantastic. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. As mentioned you might have to manage your expectations a bit since the Eiffel Tower views and outdoor terraces are not necessarily dazzling and expansive, but the experience is still very nice and memorable.

My husband organised a surprise weekend break to this beautiful hotel for my 50th birthday and our middle daughter’s 20th birthday; it did not disappoint!

As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the wonderful, friendly staff, and for our entire stay, they went above and beyond to make sure our respective birthday celebrations were memorable. The service provided was literally second to none.

After checking in we were taken to our rooms on the fourth floor. My husband and I were in a Junior Suite Prestige and our girls in an interconnecting room next door. They were both elegant, immaculate with balconies and views of the Eiffel Tower. The large, marbled bathroom had a freestanding bath and walk in shower and a lovely range of complimentary toiletries.

Room service was delicious and prompt and breakfast in the morning was buffet style with eggs, omelettes etc made to order.

The spa is quite small but a wonderful way to rest weary legs and relax after a day of sightseeing.

This beautiful 5* hotel is situated just off the Champs-Élysées, and is therefore a perfect base from which to explore this magnificent city.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and cannot wait to return.

Dear Abigail., We warmly thank you for this amazing feedback and we thank your husband for choosing the Grand Powers to celebrate both yours and your daughter's birthday! It was such a pleasure for the entire team to have your family with us and we are thrilled to have been able to enhance your Parisian weekend. I am delighted to read that you enjoyed all of our services and that they all met your expectations. Please, next time, do not hesitate to ask the concierges to privatise the spa for an hour or two for the exclusive use of your family, you will benefit more from the space. It is a very nice recommendation you made us and I am sure your beautiful pictures will convince your readers. We are all looking forward for your next stay. If I would have to summarize, I would say that perhaps boutique hotels shouldn’t be taken as 5 star hotels unless in very exceptional cases and if have my doubts this hotel is one of those cases. Or taking a different angle, I would say that as a boutique hotel this is certainly a 5 star one, but is no match for a standard 5 star hotel (not to mention the palaces which are in a different league)
Pros:
the attitude of the employees and the service is 5 star. The concierges and some front desk associates belong to palace hotel category
Good location- that is, if you like to stay in that area of the city.
Well appointed rooms. Everything in the bed was very comfortable, again 5 star quality
Discreetly elegant premises, again in a boutique hotel kind

Cons:
Tiny restrooms. Almost uncomfortable and certainly not to be found in a 5 star hotel
Very small lobby and bar/restaurant area
Rooms on the small size side, of course I understand this is Paris but you don’t find this size of rooms in real 5 star hotels

All in all, I would stay here again if the rate is below the level of normal 5 star hotels.

Dear barranqtraveler, As a follow up of my email, thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience at the Grand Powers with the TripAdvisor community. The Grand Powers is indeed a boutique hotel and not a “Palace” and we are glad that, as per your experience, you fully understand our concept. It is for sure very rewarding for our team to read that our customer service is worth “Palaces”. Thank you so much for those compliments!! As I explained, our first category starts from 245 sqft, and the room you stayed in is not specifically representative of the hotel experience our guests usually plebiscite, as they offer a different lay out from each other’s. Then, we truly hope to welcoming you back very soon to live a genuine experience. Axelle, our Reservation Supervisor, and I, are looking forward to hearing back from you. Yours sincerely, Mélanie Costa Guest Experience Supervisor

I stayed at Hotel Grand Powers in February and I have been wanting to go back ever since the situation of COVID-19 began. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very nice host who checked us in the hotel and took us to our room. The room was a great size for two people and the Hotel offered great services and helped us get a table at the restaurants we wanted which included Hotel Costes and Kinugawa. The hotel is in the best location in Paris being less than one block away from the Four Seasons George V. The hotel also has a jacuzzi to offer where one can go to get a zen escape. The rooms very comfortable and great for the price. This by far has been one of my favorite hotels I have stayed in Paris!

My wife and I stayed at this property along with some friends from 04/23/2022 - 04/26/2022. When I booked this property several months in advance (when they were still working Hyatt) I had a very good feeling about it, based on the reviews and the very high Trip Advisor ranking. Simply put, we were not disappointed. All of the staff were super nice and friendly. It's clear, that the expectation of quality guest service has been ingrained within the staff. Our Superior Room on the second floor was DEFINITELY larger than the majority of hotel rooms in Europe; and although you could tell that multiple smaller mattresses made up the bed, it was basically a king sized bed with room to spare. Our room also had a small balcony with a bistro set if you wished to spend sometime out there eating or people watching. The bathroom is fantastic and arguably the best part of the room. Marble everywhere. If I had to provide one minor bit of feedback it would be the bathroom faucet itself. Basically, it sticks way too far out. If you're washing your face, you need to be careful when bending down and potentially slamming your head into the thing. It needs to be shortened. You will understand this when you see it, and you'll realize that I'm not nitpicking. This is the ONLY drawback I found. Outlets are everywhere. Water pressure is strong. The in room temperature unit works like a charm. There's a small desk to sit and work if needed. You can connect your device to the tv via bluetooth to play in the room speakers and there's a switch inside the bathroom that will turn on speakers in the bathroom also. We had breakfast at the property during one of the mornings there. It was decent and the staff was very attentive. Grand Powers is located right off the Champs-Elysees in a very very nice neighborhood. A 10 minute walk will have you in the thick of things. This is a pricey property, but something tells me that the folks who stay here normally don't really worry about that sort of stuff. All in all, this is an excellent excellent property. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Don't even give it a second thought. Do it.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our stay was magical. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, the drinks are thirst quenching and the food is delicious. We arrived after a tiring early journey the kind receptionist allowed us a room to change and freshen up before heading out to explore Paris in the morning. We returned and checked into our room, we were blown away. The extras I ordered for my girlfriend were all in the room as requested abs of the finest quality. She is Vegan and the hotel’s kind concierge had sourced us vegan chocolates as well as a bouquet of red roses and champagne. Throughout our 4 days we had the pleasure of meeting so many of the wonderful staff but would like to make a few as a special thanks. Thank you especially to Joé, Julian, Juliette, Louis and the kind concierge who gave us a picnic basket for a midnight champagne picnic at the Eiffel Tower (I’m sorry we do not know your name!). We are already looking to book to return! We cannot put into words how incredible our stay truly was. I cannot recommend Hotel Grand Powers enough! Thank you all!

My husband and 4 year old daughter and I are on our way back from Paris and had such a beautiful time! In particular, I had to recommend Hotel Grand Powers. Our room was gorgeous, the staff anticipated all our needs and were incredibly kind, and they really went above and beyond with our daughter! They gave her a stuffed animal on our first night, put toys in our room for her to play with during our stay, gave her a bag of little star confetti when they saw she picked some up off one of their holiday tables and then didn’t mind when she “decorated” the room with it! Mélanie greeted our daughter by name every day which was so lovely! And they even arranged for a babysitter for us so my husband and I could have a romantic dinner out. It’s a five star hotel, and was the perfect combination of refined and luxurious + welcoming of children. We couldn’t recommend it more!!

First class service, rooms, location, staff, breakfast and more. We have stayed in many luxury hotels and this is one of the best… boutique, real service, concierge help with bookings, stunning rooms. Special mention to Antoine who always went out of his way to make us feel welcome and assist. We arrived the day of road closures for the Tour De France - Antoine and his team helped us find a way to the hotel and assisted with luggage as some roads were blocked off … they went above and beyond at all times. The buffet breakfast is delicious - lots of options to order from. Great omelettes. Our room was on the 6th floor abs had a view of the Eiffel tower. The heated bathroom floors are divine and the marble tiled bathroom is complete indulgence

We stayed in the elegant Eiffel tower suite, which is one of the highest suite on the on the floor. The room was quite nice. Definitely the view was great to be able to see the tower, but the walls were quite thin. It also shared a door with a neighbor, so we can hear music, chitchat, and all of that which wasn’t pleasant and because our room was right in the elevator, we kept hearing the bell ring, and also hear other people go in and out of the room. We did have an ant problem, but that was towards the end of the trip. The room is spacious and have a nice size bed and pull out sofa bed.

The meals were fine, and the staff were pretty friendly and nice and helped whenever I had questions do use WhatsApp to help answer any questions, and also had a QR code to order your meals and ask other questions .

When I was trying to check out, they mentioned that I can check out at any time to make it easier but when I was trying to do that, the lady told me that I had to wait until the next morning and then another staff helped me and checked me out, but I thought that was a little odd. They also mentioned because I had a 7:40 AM flight that leaving at 5 AM instead of 4 AM would be enough time and I would be able to get extra sleep. I did pay for their transportation and a greeter and I wanted everything to go as smoothly as possible, on the morning of that day upon check out, they had some issues with our invoice and we were mistaken with a different customer and they gave us additional charges and that took quite a bit of time to figure out and resolve. I was getting a little nervous because we were about to leave When a driver came to take us to the airport, I made a few wrong turns. I wasn’t sure if he was not familiar or it was just too early, but he ended up dropping us off at the wrong terminal. He dropped us off at terminal 2F and I realize that there weren’t a lot of customers there and it was mainly Air France. I asked around and then I realize we were not at the right terminal and after asking a few people with determined that we had to take the shuttle to go to terminal one because we came as a family and I had a toddler I feel the lifts were not working and that was very stressful, the shuttle was three additional stops and we barely made it to our flight after going through customs and security. I mentioned it to customer relations and he said after thorough investigation he determined that the driver did drop us off at terminal one but that’s strange. Why would I lie about that about my experience of being dropped off at the wrong terminal when I barely had any time left for boarding, especially that early in the morning and had to navigate from one terminal to another with a Toddler.

The location is quite good and it is pretty expensive and it does have a nice luxury feel, but I wish some of these hiccups didn’t happen, especially when it comes to the transportation for leaving and we almost missed our flight.

Eve though our room was beautiful I was appalled because you room service trays were left in the corridors outside our room for up to 24 hours. I noticed this when we checked in, there was a tray which was there the next morning. On same evening we ordered room service and maid left our tray out of room for a whole day. Also, the room service menu is too limited and too expensive. The staff speaks little English which is a predicament in an international hotel.

Response from grandpowers, Responsable relations clients at Hôtel Grand Powers
Responded 11 Mar 2020
Dear Seasatin, Thank you for taking the time to write us your comment. The feedback from our customers is truly a gold mine, because it allows to remain vigilants and continuously improve our level of service. Generally speaking, you spent an amazing stay with your family at the Grand Powers, and I am glad you enjoyed your accommodation. As a well-traveler who often comes to Paris, I understand that you are very sensitive to details, and you are absolutely right : luxury is where details are ! We are however sorry it tarnished so much your global review. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the occurrences you encountered about the room service, this is not representative of our level of service. Our team usually checks the corridors very regularly during the day to avoid such issues. Our room service menu includes the classics of a 5-star hotel plus the full menu of the healthy concept restaurant, for more than 27 different dishes during the day, and around 12 during the night. I am very sorry we could not discuss directly with you about your experience, I sincerely hope you will contact me back as I cannot retrieve your name, please feel free to contact me anytime at guestrelation@gphotel. com. Yours sincerely, Gonzalo Torrealba Guest Experience Supervisor
