Staff was helpful and friendly and fluent in English. Good location close to lots of shopping and Bistros nearby. Walkable ( 15 Min or so) to Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame and short walk to Metro for longer trips. Rooms were typical of older European hotel, smallish but comfortable. 10 Euro breakfast was not bad, served in an interesting, small...

Having stayed at other Best Western hotels we were confident when we did book this one, only to realize our mistake when we got there. Unfortunately, this is not only a very old building, but the place was poorly managed. After several complaints of replacing a light fixture, they never did fix it. The room and its closet were cramped...

This hotel was very nice. Well decorated. Great breakfast. Small rooms which is expected in most large European cities. What my wife liked about this hotel was the location. When you walk out the front door you are right in the middle of cafes, shops, restaurants. The subway was a short walk away if needed. 10-15 minute walk to Notre...

I have stayed at this small hotel 3 times in the last 15 years; this time with my family. The rooms are small but well equipped, beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom is very adequate even by American standards though a shower curtain or glass would be helpful. Breakfast is a real treat... good coffee, pain au chocolat, scrambled eggs, sausages,...

We stayed for a long weekend to go to a wedding in Paris. The reception staff were very kind & helpful. The hotel was very clean & petite but the bed was very comfortable.Everything was spotless. Right in the heart of the Rive Gauche but not noisy at all.Ideal for couples.Quite romantic.

This is a quaint hotel, perfectly located in the Saint Germaine district on a pedestrian type street. The lobby was comfortable to catch up on email. Shopping, restuarants, and yummy gelato right out the front door. I was traveling by myself and was able to find my way around quite well with some assistance from the helpful front desk staff,...

My grandson and I stayed at this small but delightful hotel for four nights. Staff very friendly and helpful, nice breakfast served in a former wine cellar. Clean, nicely decorated rooms with ample size bathrooms. We will stay there again.

Buffet breakfast was just ok, but I love how they decorated the place. If they'd upgraded the price&quality of breakfast a bit higher, this would be a perfect place for breakfast in the morning. Housekeepers were very nice even though they couldn't speak much english, but they tried their best to communicate with us and get us what we needed....

The location os this hotel is simply perfect, right in the heart of St-Germain and walking distance to everything, including the RER from CDG (5 minutes from St-Germain station). Loved the atmosphere in the pedestrian streets below (see photo) and the easy walk to the Louvres, Notre-Dame, etc. The hotel itself is what you should expect in this part of...

I made reservations for this place many months in advance. Upon our arrival, they told us they didn't have room for us and sent us to their "partner" hotel down the street. The receptionist at the Grand Hotel de l'Univers was friendly enough, but there is no excuse for the mistake they made. This type of customer service is exactly...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
