Cosy little hotel with stylish and clean rooms, slept very well thanks to comfortable bed and silence. Bathroom clean and modern. Breakfast was sufficient with diffrent alternatives, breakfast room could be moved from the cellar to the ground floor. Great location next to the Panthéon, nearest metro station if you head for the West of Paris requires some walking.

We have recently had a lovely long weekend and throughly enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel. Whilst not top end luxury this hotel was a haven after a long day walking. It was very clean and tidy compared to some other 3* hotels we saw around the city and the staff were very accomodating. The rooms were of a...

Our room was seriously small and I was immediately disappointed. It was listed as a superior double and I can only imagine what size a normal double would of been! The air conditioning didn't work and so you had to have the balcony doors open which lead straight out on to a joint balcony. The decoration was 'interesting' and dated....

We stayed at this hotel for a week over Christmas 2007 and found it to be charming, very clean and very well run. It is centrally located in the Latin Quarter so we were able to walk to many museums and attractions during our stay. As you would expect in Paris, our room was very very small but beautifully furnished...

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel des Grands Hommes from 17 Dec - 20 Dec 2007. We booked a Christmas special on the hotel website for a family room, which was two separate rooms - one double and one twin. The double room was very small with spacious bathroom (we kept both our suitcases in the bathroom as...

This visit to Paris was our fifth in four years. January is wonderful in Paris with fewer crowds and moderate weather. We stayed at the HGH for 8 nights in an interior room with no view. We chose the hotel for its location (5eme) and we liked our previous stay in the sister hotel, Hotel du Pantheon, next store. The...

This was a lovely, small, charming hotel located near the Pantheon and Sorbonne and a quick walk to the Luxembourg metro and Park. The room had long windows over looking the Pantheon, it was a retreat and beautiful place to rest , relax and retreat. Being a bath maven, I was delighted to relax in the large tub. There was...

After reading all the positive reviews on this hotel, my wife and I booked 4 nights for our recent first anniversary stay. All in all, the hotel was good, not great. I think it's easy to build up your expectations based on others' opinions/reviews, so maybe mine were a little inflated. I booked directly with the hotel, which was far...

Dear guest, Futher to your comment, I would like to offer you an answer even if, as you can imagine, I would have prefered to discuss these two "problems" with you when you were at the hotel des Grands Hommes. Concerning the early check-in - unfortunately and, I assume, like in all the hotel de charme in the world -...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
