We arrived in Paris after a 5 day stay in London. The hotel is very clean. The location is really quite nice. I wasn't sure on our taxi ride to it. But after getting to know my way around Paris a bit, I do think that it is a great location. We were able to catch the open air bus...

My sister-in-law and I stayed the week of February 5th. Laurent was working at the front desk when we checked in and he was absolutely delightful to work with all week. He gave excellent advice on places to dine and things to do. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to everything. We had easy access...

The hotel has very recently been renovated and the rooms look great, very chic and modern. The staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast was sufficient too. The greatest advantage of this hotel is its location: located near the heart of colleges area, it's quiet yet close to many restaurants and cafes. It also has 2 metro stations at a...

We stayed here in December 2011 and were happy with the choice. Five minute walk to Notre Dame, easy access to the metro and tour bus routes, surrounded by Latin Quarter cafes and restaurants. Hotel staff were great, helpful throughout. The room had a strange layout, very long and narrow, difficult to get the luggage past the bed. But, we...

In January 2011 I made internet booking via Best Western for 4 nights at La Tour Notre Dame, commencing 13th April 2011. I just happened to check my credit card account the day before I was due to travel and noticed that a full refund had been credited to my account for this booking. I had received no notification that...

Not original hotel choice but had to relocate here due to fire at original booking. Good location, across road from Metro station. Rooms on small side with basic furniture, but fairly good rate. Didn't use breakfast area so can't comment on food. Wouldn't be first choice, but reliable back up.

Stayed here for a week in March and it was convenient hub for running around Paris. Located in the 5th arrondissement, we were right next to a major metro line RER to Charles De Gaulle Airpot and Versailles, as well as a five minute walk to the Notre Dame. The relatively new rooms were tiny but comfortable and quiet. The...

My sister and I stayed at La Tour Notre Dame for 5 nights in a twin room in early Feb. Small room, though a reasonable size for Paris standards, room for hanging clothes and enough space for our two large bags. Great sized bathroom, friendly staff. Only downfall was that our room had a stale smoke smell. The floor is...

The location really makes this hotel. It is situated right between the Latin Quarter and St. Germain, so you have so much right in the neighborhood- The Sorbonne, Notre Dame, lots of restaurants/bars, etc. Two metro stations very close by and an easy walk to other neighborhoods. The hotel itself is nothing special; the room was small and definitely no...

The location is perfect - just a few minutes from the Latin quarter and St. Germain des Pres. As a female tarveller, I felt quite safe getting back to the hotel at 4 in the morning. The location is exceptional - it's in the middle of everything! And reaching other popular tourist spots or Gare du Nord or the airport...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
