Nestled in the heart of Paris, Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris delights guests with its superb location, a stone's throw from top attractions and culinary hotspots. The spacious rooms, complete with handy kitchenettes, are a hit, although they show signs of wear and could use a refresh.
While some guests commend the helpful staff, others recount less pleasant encounters. The hotel's cleanliness and amenities, including on-site laundry, are generally applauded, but the value proposition is contentious, with numerous travelers questioning the pricing relative to the offered experience.

We enjoyed a three night stay in a 7th floor apartment with Seine view. The hotel is in an excellent location close to many Paris attractions and with Metro stations located nearby. There are cafes, restaurants and a supermarket in the surrounding streets. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook a meal. Although the apartment was small, the layout was such that the door to the lounge room (with sofa bed) could be shut, as could the bedroom door, with the bathroom accessed from the hallway so you didn't need to disturb anyone's sleep to access it. The sofa bed was separated into two single fold out beds, so you could leave one half of the sofa bed closed to be used as seating. The laundry room in the basement was convenient and is managed using the WeWash app. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Citadines St Germain des Pres Paris.

Arrived for a couple of days with my 2 daughters and this was a fabulous hotel. Perfect location for sightseeing! All the staff were kind and helpful. The rooms are a great size, hairdryer in room. Ironing board and iron, umbrellas, dressing gown and slippers, shampoo, hand wash and body lotion in rooms. Kitchen has everything you need! Will definitely stay again

During my trips here in Paris I happen to stop at this hotel just opposite the Seine St.Germain district. Great location, easy to reach, a nice big and lit reception, large and quite spacious room-studios, good breakfast, well assorted but definitely expensive (18€). Cleaning of the room occasionally and never daily, nice autonomous towel service but the room must be cleaned daily for 270€ night (double single use). Bad carpeting in the room and hallways, to replace or keep at least Linda and shiny. All in all positive rating but cleanliness must be definitely improved for 270€ per night and breakfast revised for the price

The htl is well located but the cleaning service does not exist, although it is an apart hotel, do not clean unless you order and pay 35€ per day. Which is absurd. The room for three people has a good size but is not careful. The curtains are dropped, there is no view, the blackout is a joke because it is all devastated, we stayed in room 1211 on the second floor. The attendant Dionísio did not warn that we would have to request daily cleaning and pay. Then he made a separate charge and locked our room keys so we could pass through the front desk to pay for the early cleaning. Another absurdity. It's expensive for what it offers.

The one good and only redeeming feature of Citadines Saint Germaine des Pres is the location. That is where the good ends. We arrived to be told by the receptionist the lifts do not work and we would need to carry our luggage (and there was a lot) up four flights of stairs to the room. The only option was to leave the bags in storage downstairs. There was no one to help; it was up to us. We were told it would be fixed the following day and we were summarily dismissed by the receptionist. And it never was for our entire stay. So after getting to the room on the fourth floor, the room smelled as though they were trying to cover something up. Very unpleasant. The rooms were not at all like the photos - they were very dated. The lights did not work properly (and felt unsafe due to the flickering), the toilet was no where near the bathroom (weird), and the walls are paper-thin (be aware - you hear everything!). When they say they have a laundry, be prepared to pay $5 each time you use it and do not be fooled into thinking the “fitness Centre” is indeed a fitness centre. It is not. Our initial reaction to the way the stay started meant it was not a good experience from the start, but the location and the area around Citadines is wonderful.

Bonjour Stu, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely regret that your experience at Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés did not meet your expectations. Your comfort and satisfaction are very important to us, and we are truly sorry for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. We understand how it must have been to arrive and find the elevators out of service. While we did have a team member available to assist with luggage, we regret that this support was not offered or communicated to you properly. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and for any difficulties it may have caused during your arrival. Additionally, we are sorry to hear that your room did not meet your expectations. We take guest feedback seriously and will review the concerns regarding room conditions, odors, and amenities with our team to ensure improvements are made. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and pleasant stay for all our guests, and we regret that this was not your experience. We are, however, pleased that you enjoyed our location and the surrounding area. Saint-Germain-des-Prés is indeed a beautiful and lively neighborhood, and we hope that, despite the challenges, you were able to make the most of your time in Paris. Once again, we apologize for the shortcomings you experienced. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future. Alessia - Citadines Saint Germain des Prés

Clean, safe and ideally located. We stayed for 3 nights to explore Paris, mostly the Louvre. The location is perfect, just a 3 minute walk from Pont Neuf and that clearly drives up the cost. The room was entirely adequate, nothing special. The bed and pillows comfortable. We had a room looking into the courtyard, sadly several nights we had to close the window due to the waft of cigarette smoke. No linen service (I assume still due to COVID), but they did have plenty of towels available. The entrance is card controlled (safe) and there was parking under the hotel with direct hotel access (it was pricey as well). The staff was super friendly and very helpful and spoke great English – with no attitude – which is a real plus. It is super convenient to that part of Paris and well within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Paris.

The location is great, but it is practically the only asset of this hotel: real tourist factory, with interchangeable staff who do not seem very motivated: We had requested twin beds and did not get them. The flow of the shower remained very low during the 5 days of our stay, and our complaints did not change anything. The sound of the elevator punctuated our nights...It was not just next to our room but in front, offset. One positive point: the kitchenette, well equipped and practical, but does this justify such a price?

Do not let the photos on Booking.com fool you into thinking this accommodation is wonderful, it is not as it seems. The reception area is bright and airy with a comfortable feel, however the rooms are definitely not, they are shabby, outdated, badly maintained, I could go on and on, but I won’t. I totally understand that any studio apartment in the centre of Paris would be pricey but this is a total rip off. It was a very sad end to our wonderful trip to France. Thankfully we only had to stay for three nights, I was ready to leave after one night.
We asked for the room security safe to be repaired or replaced the morning after we arrived as it wasn’t working, nothing happened. On checking out I gave the receptionist a full list of problems we had encountered and she said ‘with 200 rooms how do you expect us to keep them all up to standard? ‘ ….or words to that effect My reply ‘how about that all appliances work from the check in day that would be a good start ? The receptionist had obviously had some sort of conflict resolution training as I observed many more guests than myself complaining at the front desk of varying issues whilst sipping my free complimentary coffee in the nice reception area ( to save my sanity from that awful room) She said I should have reported my issues earlier in our stay to which I replied ‘so it could be ignored like the request to sort out the safe ? ‘ To surmise- - Our room view was a brick/ stone wall, no Seine view, you have to pay even more for that !
- Dishwasher didn’t wash anything clean, - toaster didn’t work, and the beds were covered in plastic sheets under the bed sheets causing endless sweating in the night.
I’m afraid free coffee in the reception area does not replace true customer care, Citadines policy seems to think that’s sufficient perhaps?? £300 per night is a complete joke for a shambolic hotel the likes of which I would never frequent again.

Bonjour cmnorth, It was a pleasure to welcome you to our residence and we thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our establishment and your room. The photos on booking or other online reservation sites are faithful to the rooms we offer. We cannot guarantee that you will have exactly the same room as in the photo, but they are all similar and have the same facilities (depending on the category chosen, of course). We apologize for the safety deposit box, unfortunately we had a technical problem with our server and were therefore unaware of these technical problems. We understand that this may have affected your stay, but your satisfaction and comfort are our top priorities. Finally, our establishment is located in the heart of Paris, so not all views can be from the Seine. We invite you to inform us of your preferences in terms of view during your next stay and we will do our best to respond positively if availability allows. We hope to have another opportunity to serve you better, Aurore Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris

Citadines St. Germain is brilliantly located. Literally across from the Seine and the Pont Neuf Bridge - easy walking distance to Notre Dame and Musee D’Orsay and Place Michael. Surrounding neighborhoods full of shops and restaurants - much to see and do. We stayed in an apartment (1123) - no view of the Seine but a view of the front desk and overlooking the Courtyard. It was quiet which we appreciated. Comfortable bed and good lighting. The apartment itself could do with a new coat of paint and a new rug - it was pretty grungy. We were paying well over $400 Cdn a night - while it was great to have the extra space as someone said where are the rooms/apartments shown in the pictures when you are booking. Staff was very pleasant and helpful and a wealth of information. Would definitely stay here again. There is a free coffee machine downstairs where you can get your espresso. Breakfast was located down the hall from our room - a nice choice of food from cold cuts, cheeses, smoked salmon, fresh fruit and fresh veggies, good breads, etc. Scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs and limp (but cooked) bacon rounded out the hot items.

When did this hotel become a hostel? Aside from the excellent location, there is no reason to stay here. The rooms are dim, drab, dirty and are in desperate need of a renovation. We stayed here 11 years ago and had a better experience. Now one has to bring used towels to the lobby and pick up clean towels from the towel rack, throw away the trash, use a disposable paper mat on the shower floor, etc because there is zero service. A 4 star hotel? Not even close.

Dear K647FBellens, thank you for staying with Citadines ,we are so sorry for not to make your stay more comfortable. We would like to share that our concept is the same from the beginning as a self catering aparthotel with services à la carte and not a classic hotel. Last time that you have stayed with us 11 years ago it was the same concept. Our property should go under renovation next year. Thank you for your recommendation that we have noted. We look forward to welcoming you again to serve you better. Kind regards
