Location was outstanding, a block from the Seine river in between the Lourve and Notre Dame and next to the Metro. Easy train ride from CDG airport to Chaltelet Les Halles on RER and a short walk to the Metro exit, Rue Rivoli. Staff was outstanding, very knowledgable and directions were very good. The room was small and dated, the...

Well placed small hotel with some charm - within walking distance of lots of must see Paris sights and on the doorstep of Chatelet, one of the best connected metro stations. Sweet room with rustic feel. Perfectly acceptable for short stay, adequate facilities, even a sprinkling of romance - we arrived on Valentines to find heart shaped lollipops on our...

Our stay was a perfect one. The hotel location was just perfect and everything was so close. We were able to walk almost anyhwere, and if not, we were able to take the metro that was just around the corner. This metro (Chatelet) has almost all the main lines running through it. The hotel was very cozy. The rooms were...

We stayed here for 2 nights and were pleased with our choice of hotel. It's perfectly located to get around the city, lots of restaurants within walking distance and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Loved the deep long bath! Yes, the lift is tiny but that's all part of the Parisien charm of the place!

This is a great hotel for the price. It's 2 blocks from the metro, within walking distance of the Louvre and Notre Dame, and surrounded by shopping and dining locations. This is a charming hotel in a great location with superb staff. I studied in Paris in the 70s, and, though in love with the city and its riches, had grown "accustomed" in the 80s and 90s to service levels below par and Parisian "arrogance". In the last ten years all that changed, it seems. Paris has become open, friendly, multilingual. The staff of this hotel proved that right. In the booking...

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
