I was a little scared because of the low rating I had, but, honestly, we had a very good stay. To begin with we were able to enter the room much earlier (9 am) for 15 euros, after a 14 hour trip, we were more than happy. Very friendly at reception. 2 elevators that worked perfect. Small room with comfortable beds, somewhat old the bathroom artifacts and lamps, but the truth is not important. Hot water well in bathroom. Right heating, especially at night. We were with zero degrees! Breakfast well, coffee, fruit, bread, pastries. It gets small and sometimes you have to wait to sit down, but nothing serious. wi fi works fine. Room cleaning was done every day. Our room overlooked the lines of the station, which for us was phenomenal because we loved trains, I didn't find it noisy. Sometimes you heard noises from other rooms, but overall, we rested very well. The location is the best, literally next to metro station line 7 and 2 blocks from Gare d'lest. We did not find the neighborhood unsafe, there were several small shops to buy things to eat and even a cell phone charger. The truth is that we had a very good stay, and that we traveled with little girl who enjoyed the hotel very much.
I definitely recommend if you are looking for rest, not luxuries, good location and tranquility.

We booked 2 rooms in this hotel, and in one of the two, on the top floor there was a very loud hum of air conditioning (the room was against all room evacuations). We reported it to the reception who told us that the hotel was full and that they could not change our room. We were told to discuss it the next day with the person in charge (except that the night was totally missed...). The next day leaving we talked about it again and the hotel was not at all complete! In short, a really bad service! Otherwise the other room was decent and of good size, the breakfast was well presented, hearty and good.

Rooms were very hot - in May, so I can imagine they’re unbearable in June/July/August. The air con did bot work properly. Windows could be opened but it was incredibly noisy as right next to train station - even on 6th floor. Staff were not welcoming and gave me the wrong type of room. As I was checking in someone came down and said they had been given the wrong kind of room, so my experience was not an isolated experience. There were not apologetic at either time. Location is good as near major train stations, but did not feel too safe at night. Breakfast was much better than expected. Hotel decor looked tired and worn out, but was very clean. Free drinking water in the reception was good, but the main hot water machine was turned off after breakfast, so there was just a regular sized kettle placed out on the bar, without mugs on hand.

Very good kind and friendly welcome both before by phone because initially I thought I would arrive around midnight, which was possible considering there is a H24 welcome, as well as on arrival because in fact I took my room at 2pm!! Room street side very good, quiet, clean, bedding and bathroom very well compliant with Ibis Styles. A big thank you to Sheikh, the young man who set up breakfast: I was able to eat something (bread pastries) and drink coffee from 6:5 am 6:10 am, while the pdj starts at 6:30 am. He was very sympathetic and considerate. I thank him for that. I had a Gare de l’Est train at 6:54. It must be said that opening the pdj at 6:30 in a hotel adjacent to a major Parisian station is a bit fair...

No heating even though it’s -5°C outside! Look at the other comments, it is not a temporary heating failure but a recurring choice not to turn it on. Only one towel in the room for 2 people, deplorable hygiene, blocked toilets in the room, tasteless breakfast, loud vibration noise every time the metro passes even on the 7th floor... All for more than 120 EUR per night! This hotel, although classified as "Style", is well below a "Budget" in terms of quality. On the other hand, the high price is indeed that of a “Style”. Its management must only rely on its location (very close to a station) to fill it, neglecting everything else. However, this is not the only hotel next to the Gare de l'Est so compare but definitely don't take this hotel! To flee ! Exorbitant price for poor quality. No heating even though it’s -5°C outside! Think of regret! Already on the first day there was a torn bath towel and the heater did not work (it was very cold in the days we stayed), we had to sleep in a jacket. The next day the air conditioning was also not working and we were offered a terrible floor heater and that did not heat the room enough. Breakfast with lengthy rest time, poor staff at the reception. The only advantage of this hotel is that it is next to a subway station, otherwise it is really awful and inferior to the other hotels in the chain.

Simply stay away, please. Highly deceptive description of the hotel, there is nothing that matches what is offered. Small, Smelly, Filthy, and Basic rooms, with no A/C or Fans. It is an absolutely disgusting environment in and around the hotel. Unsafe and intimidating surroundings. No lockers are available. It is actually a non-star hotel and in my experience, it is the lowest level of B&B. Very very expensive rates are charged for extremely poor service. The TVs were hanging on the wall, with no connection to any power socket. No USB charging slots. I have traveled half of the world and this is one of the worst hotels, I have ever seen. The reception staff is helpless, as they are only employees and can not do anything to help the customers. I have filed a refund claim, which was assured to me by the hotel.

AWFUL do not stay here. We arrived to no running water anywhere in the hotel and were not informed about the cut off beforehand which lasted from when we arrived (10pm until 10am the next morning). The hotel didn't even care and didn't even apologise and refused to let us speak to a manager. The water did not come back on when it was supposed to (4 hours later in fact) and we received no information or apology. Air conditioning didn't work, the rooms were dirty and overall an awful experience. I booked through booking.com and they emailed the hotel and demanded my booking was refunded - they have ignored the request. I have emailed the hotel directly and have also been ignored.

I’ve stayed in French Ibis Styles before, which is why I chose here but what a difference in experience this was. In Bordeaux the receptionists were amazing, really warm and friendly but here they could barely check you into your room never mind anything else. Absolute farce getting to the room as the lift went up and down but only opened the door on the ground floor so everyone was just giving up and finding the stairs. My room decor was pretty stylish and modern & large - it even had a bath. Pillows have to be the worst I’ve ever encountered though and I knew it was close to a train station and metro but I didn’t expect the room to practically shake! I even had someone open the door while I was resting on the bed, I’m just glad I put the chain on the door and that I wasn’t naked! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and it’s actually put me off ever returning to an Ibis. It’s a shame because out of convenience I stayed at the Manchester Airport Ibis budget the night before and it was a brilliant experience.

The room overlooks the station, when the trains stop the noise of the brakes is very loud all night (room poorly soundproofed) in addition to recurrent vibrations for the same reasons. We asked to change the room and were given that it was impossible because the hotel is full. The room is old, dirty and with strict minimum equipment. For a hotel that ranks in 3 stars it is shameful and too expensive. Hotel to avoid!!

Stayed with my son recently, we were OK but it's a rough area (rough sleepers, beggers).
I am originally from Paris and lived nearby for nearly 10 years, so I can navigate my way through. However if it was my first time in Paris and a solo female traveller, I would try something more central and touristy.
Sorry this is late.
The hotel was fine. Better than I expected. Staff were great.
However, I would stay somewhere else anyway. I think you can do better, especially that time of year.

There were none available in the room, the staff were very helpful though and I'd imagine would help if possible. There is hot water available in reception at the machine however
