The hotel is cheap and easily accessible by metro. Only 15 minutes from Gare du Nord, does the job but wouldn't stay again. The bathroom is ridiculously small, you have to angle yourself to sit on the toliet. I have a rear facing room which looked onto an alleyway (which backed up onto a scrapyard). I witnessed a fight from...

Very good value hotel in Paris. 3 mins walk from metro. Usual Ibis standard, very clean and simple rooms. Beds are comfy. No fridge in rooms. Staff very helpful. Rooms have a good view of the suburbs. Very handy for Parc des Sciences, La Grande Halle de Villette and the Philarmonie (well worth a look). Lots of bars around and...

Hotel does what it says but don't eat here. The service is terrible. The food either over reheated in the microwave or arrived missing components promised on the menu with no apology or explanation and even asking for condiments makes you feel like an inconvenience to the staff. Very unprofessional and not at all what I anticipated from an Accor...

This Ibis hotel is nicely located and is fronting a large canal. Quite romantic corner of the city with plenty of small restaurants and bars. Rooms are clean and breakfast abundant and varied in choices.

Nice hotel at a reasonable price to stay in this different area of Paris, easy to get to and everything you'd expect from an Ibis hotel. Rooms were a little small and some hairdryer issues aside no complaints for this hotel.

Hotel chain so normal for Ibis. Room small and compact. Bathroom also small and compact. Bed firm so not a good sleep. On river and in not so nice area. Was on group tour so otherwise wouldn't have stayed here. Need to be vigilant walking around. Breakfast a bit chaotic with other people taking orders not theirs. Adequate food provided...

I tried to play the romantic a little while ago and took my other half to Paris for new year's. The hotel was great, in a quiet part of town and really close to the metro. Being on the canal it's a little colder than central (due to the water) but it's quiet, pretty and pretty laid back. Transport links...

Staying in La Villette

Neighbourhood Profile
La Villette
This futuristic landscape has come to define the northeast of Paris. The Saint-Denis canal is framed with luscious lawns and metallic buildings over a wide-open space. Home to Europe's largest science museum, this area rewards daytime and nighttime explorations; there are three concert spaces, plus cinemas and bars, and even open-air cinema in the summer. The surrounding homes are a sharp contrast to the futuristic space. Though on the outskirts of Paris, La Villette is worth the short Metro ride from the centre.
