Hotel was located near Metro station, which was good for getting around the city. The best part about the hotel was the Concierge. We did not do much research before we arrived, and they were extremely helpful in getting us reservations and planning our days. We even told them a specific dish we wanted to eat and they found us...

We stayed here on a recent weekend to Paris. Good location and walkable distance to the Louvre (20 mins), and the gare du nord (25 mins). As expected with the Marriott brand the standards are pretty consistant with subtle differences from city to city. Front desk staff were very polite and helpful. Concierge and bar staff not so much. We...

We loved this hotel - great location in the Opera right next to Galleries Lafayette. Also found that the rooms were decent size compared to most European hotels (we had a Queen bed, 2 person room and we felt it was quite spacious). The staff was also very helpful.

We had a great welcome at the hotel, which was concerned when we did not arrive when expected (United Airlines mechanical issues), and senior staff came out to greet us when we finally made it. The Marriott Opera Ambassador is both very well-placed and reasonably priced for Paris. You are quite near the north station which works well for traveling to Paris by the Thalys or Eurostar trains. There is plenty of shopping available….either at the end of the block (Galleries Lafayette, etc.) or a longer walk away in the more elegant Madeline stores. The...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
