We stayed the Hotel Scribe in Paris for four nights in October 2012 as part of the Tauck "The Art of Living" tour. The hotel is centrally located near the Opera House, and within easy walking distance to two metro stations, lots of restaurants, museums and shopping areas. The rooms were not large but nicely furnshed with modern bathroom facilities....

We stayed at the Scribe for five nights in early September to celebrate several special events. The hotel, with its elegance and warmth, exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully appointed with fresh roses throughout the public areas and also in our room, which was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The entire staff was extremely courteous and helpful, especially Aurianne, Louis,...

As others have said, this hotel is in an excellent position. Along the road from smart restaurants eg cafe de la paix or local bistros. Handy for shops + attractions and the tourist bus which has an office and starting point round the corner. The concierge at the hotel was very helpful in advising us, which bus to take. Bed...

The position of this hotel speaks for itself. Perhaps the rooms are a tad small but that is what you get in Haussmann buildings. What stood out for us were the friendly and helpful staff. This was true for all who we dealt with and it made a real difference to our stay. Breakfast were good and plenty of choice.

With its central location, this hotel proved to be a great base for several days in Paris. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and included a top-notch Sofitel bed, bathroom with bath and shower, and separate toilet. Window glazing makes for a quiet stay. Besides the restaurant, meals can also be eaten in the bar area, which adjoins the...

We stayed here with a tour group for 5 days. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We were here to see Paris so didn't spend much time at the hotel. We looked forward to a great breakfast buffet to get us started for the day. Unfortunately, the buffet was the worst I have had in 6 hotels I have...

We were going to a conference in Toulouse, and decided on a few days in Paris before. So we arrived at Hotel Scribe at about 10:00 a.m. on a Wednesday morning, following the overnight flight. Although they could not get us in our room right away (they had been full the night before), they offered to hold our luggage for...

I stayed at the Scribe this past week and could not have asked for more. I am a travel agent and I had a number of clients traveling with me. To say that we were pleased is an understatement. My husband I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. The hotel is in a good location in the Opera area and is a good base to explore the city from as the metro station is only a short walk away. Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
