We spent 4 nights here in May. It is not cheap but then nowhere is in Paris. The location is great - away from the crowds yet within easy walking distance of the Isle de la Cite and the Jardin de Luxembourg. There are some great little restaurants in the neighbourhood. The hotel itself is charming and for Paris the...

Dear Clients, We thank you for your recent visit and for your review. We understand your point of view. Room n°1 is the only one which has a jacuzzi + a shower and it is very often requested specifically However, we also have some of our repeat clients who prefer not to stay on ground-floor... Should we have been informed,...

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent four night stay! Our family of four stayed in a two-floor suite and it worked well for us, however we weren't aware that it was two floors before we arrived. I only mention this because it might be difficult for some to negotiate the narrow spiral staircase that was the only access to the bathroom...

Dear Clients, We thank you for spending a few minutes of your time to share your experience with the Trip Advisor community. We are aware that the Duplex may not be suitable neither for very young children nor for elder people or anyone who cannot use the staircase, as the bathroom and toilets are on the upper floor. This is...

I could not fault this hotel. We chose this hotel because of its location, price, facilities and consistently good reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. On our arrival we were warmly greeted. My attempts at speaking French were tolerated most graciously but the conversation reverted to English when the subject matter was beyond my language skills. The reception...

Just left the hotel this morning and would return in a heartbeat! We've done both hotel and apartment stays in the past, and the HSP was by far the nicest experience and best value for our money. Location is ideal, staff is super, rooms are lovely and generously sized (and a real bathtub!), breakfast is just right. We stayed 4...

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel St Paul Rive Gauche from the 18 - 22 May 2013. We had booked a standard room as that was all that was required, in a nutshell a place to lay our head. Our standard is that the room, bathroom and linen must be clean and the bed comfortable, the Hotel St...

The hotel is quite nice. The location is excellent: you're within easy walking distance of everything in the 5th and 6th arrondissements, as well as the Seine, There are plenty of great places to eat within a few blocks. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room, was quite small, especially the bathroom. But the price was quite...

Dear Clients, We thank you for your kind review on Trip Advisor. Last month, there was "Roland Garros Tourney " (May 21st- June 9th) and now, there is the Air Show at Le Bourget Airport During the high season, hotels in all borrows of Paris are a bit more expensive as there are less promotional offers available . A great little hotel in a reasonably central location in Paris. It's within walking distance for most of the main tourist attractions, but you can always catch the metro if you didn't want to walk. The rooms were very small, but not small enough to be too much of a problem. It was on par with the prices of other...

Dear Clients, We are grateful for your nice review. Actually, our rooms are not small if you compare them to several 3 and even 4 star hotels in the neighborhood. Most of the travel agents who have visited our rooms said that they were much bigger that the rooms they had visited in other places, when you can barely turn...

We had five nights at this hotel, our room was on the third floor facing the street, it felt roomy and had a bath tub which was a blessing after long cold walks. For an average to good budget this is a very good choice, however, beware of the top floor, very cramped rooms even for Paris' standards. Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche belongs to a Franco-British family, hoteliers for 4 generations, who have made the hotel a marriage of French elegance and English comfort. Situated on the line of Paris' former outer wall under Philippe Auguste, this 17th century building was once the home of Franciscan monks. The 31 bedrooms are colourful and range in style from the modern - vibrant flowered fabrics - to the traditional - exposed beams and elegant opaque curtains. There are beamed ceilings, faux ostrich bed-heads, clever corner armoires, even two baldaquin beds beneath the high ceilings of the lower floors. Entirely renovated in 2015, this boutique-hotel is close to everything, in the heart of the action, but in a quiet little street. The Luxembourg gardens vicinity and the so many walking distance sites like the Sorbonne, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Pantheon, Cluny museum and the Louvre, make the Hotel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche a convenient pied-à-terre for enjoying the city. ... more   less
