This was a nice convenient hotel for our Paris visit. The front desk people were always so helpful and very friendly in providing general advice about little things we don't know as Americans. What really stood out was when the TV in our room didn't work (not a biggie in my book), they offered us a new room, or keys...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 13 April 2017

We stayed at the Hotel St. Paul Rive Gauche for ten nights while in Paris for our son's wedding. The hotel staff was warm, accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The breakfast room, with its vaulted ceiling, was cozy and quiet-two important factors in the morning. The breakfast featured cheeses and wonderful croissants, plain and chocolate,...

The people running the hotel were lovely: multi-lingual, very patient answering questions. The decor is charming, and the whole place is spotless. The room and shower were small, but they made good use of the space (a triangular closet built into the corner), and my room was soundproofed with an extra door. Fantastic location, too.

Dear Guest, We thank you very much for your recent visit and your fantastic review. We are very satisfied with our renovations. Our rooms are not huge but a fair size for Paris. The room that you stayed in is the smallest type as we also have classic and superior rooms ( the biggest) You are right: our architect made...

I stayed for 4 nights in April 2017 and was delighted by the staff and location. It was a short walk from the Metro stop coming from CDG airport and other Metro stops in Paris. It's in the heart of the St German de Pres and Latin Quarters with countless fine restaurants, cafes and wine bars to choose from. It's...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at the Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche. I’m thrilled to learn that you can't imagine ever choosing another place to stay in Paris ! Our location is terrific and the street being narrow, it is much quieter than both Boulevards St Germain and St Michel. We are...

I love this hotel. I stayed here about 10 years ago, so thought I'd try it again on my recent trip to Paris. I wasn't disappointed! The front desk staff are very helpful, from arranging private transportation to/from CDG, making reservations, and giving accurate directions. The rooms are cozy but well-appointed. Space was utilized well and the bed extremely comfortable....

First time in Paris. Chose it really based on its accessibility from CDG airport. Never visited Paris before and was quite put off by the idea of getting a Metro with various changes. It was so easy to get to. RER B into the city to Luxembourg Metro stop (40 minutes) 5 minute walk to the hotel. We were received...

We stayed here for a few nights on our honeymoon, and found it to be very comfortable, well situated and well managed. Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche belongs to a Franco-British family, hoteliers for 4 generations, who have made the hotel a marriage of French elegance and English comfort. Situated on the line of Paris' former outer wall under Philippe Auguste, this 17th century building was once the home of Franciscan monks. The 31 bedrooms are colourful and range in style from the modern - vibrant flowered fabrics - to the traditional - exposed beams and elegant opaque curtains. There are beamed ceilings, faux ostrich bed-heads, clever corner armoires, even two baldaquin beds beneath the high ceilings of the lower floors. Entirely renovated in 2015, this boutique-hotel is close to everything, in the heart of the action, but in a quiet little street. The Luxembourg gardens vicinity and the so many walking distance sites like the Sorbonne, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Pantheon, Cluny museum and the Louvre, make the Hotel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche a convenient pied-à-terre for enjoying the city. ... more   less
