I stayed in this hotel for my first trip to Paris in May 2016 and I was very pleased. The room was small but the layout was good. I never had to ask for additional towels or cleaning. The common areas were very stylish and cozy. The location was great!. It was just a short walk to the train station...

This hotel was a refreshing alternative from a typical Sheraton-type establishment. Our room was small but cozy and well appointed. The location, near Gare Montparnasse, provided a perfect base to explore Paris. Breakfast was scrumptious and happy hour d'oeuvres was a nice touch to kick start a splendid Parisian nightlife. A shout out to staff (Pierre + the breakfast guy)...

I am so pleased I found the Louison. Historical place, the staff was genuinely super friendly, it is so close to the train station, even with relatively heavy luggage, it is reachable by foot, not true with most other affordable hotels there. As price vary I hope I can go back all the time I go to Paris, 2 to...

We thoroughly enjoyed this charming hotel where we stayed in a Prestige room December 8-11, 2016. The stylish common areas were beautifully decorated for the season during our visit, and our recently renovated room was sufficiently spacious with clean lines, tasteful décor, and a red toile accent wall. The handsome breakfast room doubles as a game and conversation area, and...

My wife and I stayed here from two nights in December before moving onto Germany. We took advantage of a special early booking offer which brought the price down dramatically. Incredible deal for a Paris hotel. The staff greeted us with smiles and were very helpful when we arrived after our overnight flight, smelly, gross, and exhausted. We had arrived...

This hotel is in a quiet street off Boulevard du Montparnasse. There are a number of Metro stations within a 5-10 minute walk and it is a straightforward 15-20 minute walk along the Boulevard from the Port Royal train station where the RER B line connects with Charles de Gaulle airport. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the...

Chose this hotel based on the mostly positive reviews. Upon checking in, although I was supposedly given a renovated "Prestige" room, the room itself was tired (peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, chipped furniture), the bathroom was unacceptable (mildew in shower grout + old carpet), the lighting was terrible with all of the curtains opened, and it was right next to the...

Dear EJ477, I do remember you and your mother very well. I’m so surprised and I’m sincerely sorry to read your feedback. When I proposed you to change a room, you seemed to be entirely satisfied. Effectively, the room 154 is usually very appreciated by our guests as it is a Prestige category. We have quickly solved the incident at...

This hotel is in a nice, safe neighborhood. There are plenty of places to eat half o block away on boulevard of montparnasse like French, burgers, Italian. The hotel has continental breakfast but if you want a bigger breakfast like omelettes you can go to the corner on montparnasse and turn right or left with many restaurants. We had breakfast...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated between Saint Germain des Pres and Montparnasse, the Hotel LOUISON is a chic hotel in the centre of Paris. With nineteenth century furniture, cherry and chestnut tones on the walls, marble floors and a courtyard garden, the Aviatic captures the spirit of the Left Bank in every detail. The hotel was constructed in 1856 to welcome the painters, sculptors and writers who would go on to put the Latin quarter at the very heart of European culture. This cultural heritage is present even in the bedrooms. Tastefully decorated, they generate a feeling of calm and a sensual ambiance. The charming, multilingual staff are always available to provide you with help and advice. They will be happy to offer local insight on art galleries, museums and the area's famous pavement cafes. ... more   less
