I stayed at this small hotel two years ago with my daughter. We liked it so much I returned with my husband for a few nights. On my first trip my room was small, but beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was a good size. This time my husband and I had a bigger room overlooking the street. As is the...

Got back recently from a 5-day stay at the hotel and can't say enough good things about it. From the very first day of our email contact to them through the last day when we checked out, the hotel staff went above and beyond the call of duty in their responsiveness, personal courtesies and overall helpfulness. We found this hotel...

I loved staying at Hotel Sainte Beuve. The location was perfect for me. I liked that the hotel is in a safe neighborhood far enough from the crowds, but close enough to walk to major attractions. Wonderful stay in a small, boutique hotel. Central location, almost everything is in walking distance. On a quiet narrow street, no street noise to speak of. But, did have two Metro stops within a block. Rooms were nice, smallish as you would expect. Bathrooms were larger than expected and clean. Didn't eat breakfast there, but there are many options for...

I'm not sure if it's my time of life but I've stayed in some of the better hotels of late (that is in my limited experience). My wife booked this hotel as part of a trip that she planned to mark my 50th birthday. She couldn't have got it more right. Generally the hotels in Paris needn't try too hard,...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
