I stayed at L’Abbaye on my honeymoon 38 years ago and loved it so I just spent a week there and enjoyed it greatly once again. Be prepared for relatively small rooms and a lift that only carries 3 persons. It is old fashioned and most of its clients are 40+ Americans but you get good value, great location, great service, wonderful breakfast and a homey comfy feel

Loved this hotel. I found it online looking at pictures. I knew I wanted to stay in the 6th because I love the neighborhood. I have been to Paris a few times. I also knew I wanted the feel of a French boutique hotel. It was my husband's first trip to Paris and it was our anniversary. Paris is romantic and so is this wonderful little hotel. I believe there are 44 rooms. Our room was a classic room which for Europe was standard and not too small in size. It had two small closets for our clothes and a large bathroom with a soaker tub and American Shower. We did not eat in the restaurant but we had drinks in the lounge/patio/garden which was delightful. The concierges are all very helpful and welcoming. We could walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. It's very close to Luxembourg Gardens and more than one Metro stop. I would stay in this hotel again and again and recommend it to friends. C'est magnifique.

A friend recommended this hotel and we couldn’t have been more pleased. It’s a quiet location tucked away in the 6th arr., convenient to walking the city. The common rooms are inviting. The rooms comfortable and generous by most Paris standards. Our room on the 4th floor overlooked the garden. Bed was comfy, bathroom spacious. All beautifully appointed.
And then there’s the staff……friendly, welcoming and so helpful.
Breakfast was worth the price and served in a garden room that was so charming we went back one evening for drinks and decided to spend the entire evening there.

We just loved our four nights at the Hotel de L'Abbaye. It is in one of our favorite neighborhoods in Paris, tucked away on a very quiet street just a couple of blocks from the wonderful Luxembourg Gardens and adjacent to busier streets full of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is a tranquil oasis. It is beautifully designed in a classic style, with several small public rooms to relax, and a nice small garden. If you like a classic style, you'll love the warm, elegant and inviting decor. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a bar serving drinks and light meals. A basic but tasty breakfast was included in our rate, including juice, yogurt, a bread/pastry basket, and I think one optional thing such as fruit or cheese.
We stayed in the largest category of room, the Appartement Terrasse. This is a spacious two-story unit, with a living room and main bathroom downstairs, and a bedroom upstairs. For those reserving this room for a family, be aware that the bedroom is on a sort of loft, not entirely private. So this room is better for a couple. The bedroom opens to a small terrace with table and chairs. There is also a small 1/2 bath off of the bedroom-- not advertised and very convenient.
We can't wait to go back.

In the heart of Paris close to museums, places of attraction, best restaurants, cafes, while hidden in a cul de sac nestled between a stylish front courtyard, and a beautiful garden of eden that one enters from a brilliantly designed greenhouse housing the restaurant at the back, birds singing, and sounds of water flowing out of the fountain replace the noises of the streets of the city. This is a hidden gem, a small palace, that after a long day in the museums and streets of Paris, one can enjoy a relaxing, and peaceful evening, a very comfortable night in beautifully furnished, comfortable and practical rooms. The mornings are another story, waking up with the singing of the birds, refreshened, looking forward to the unique experience of a traditional Parisian breakfast with the best quality elements you could possibly get nowhere else. What a beautiful way to start a another beautiful day in Paris. In addition to her location, unique amenities, what makes the Hotel de l'Abbaye Saint Germain so special is the people who run this place from their general manager Ms. Caroline, executive staff Mr. Lionel, Mr. Olivier, front desk personnel Mr. Beauclaire, Mr. Christian, Mr. Frederique to friendly waitresses, Mr. Mehmet, Mr, Burhan, Mr. Denis, Ms. Mimi with their warm smiles, kindness, friendliness, professionalism, always taking the extra mile and making everything even the impossible possible, all of which definitely makes Hotel de l'Abbaye Saint Germain, a 7 star Hotel. However, they only had five stars in this review. If you are lucky enough to book a room at this outstanding boutique Hotel, you will not be able to stay at another place in Paris.

The Hotel de l'Abbaye Saint-Germain is a gem. The location is excellent, with easy access to the Metro as well as an easy walk to shopping and restaurants.
The setting is tranquil and provides the perfect place for respite after sightseeing. The rooms on the main floor are beautifully decorated with several options for both indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast options were delicious. One can relax with a glass of wine and a snack in the late afternoon or evening in a very comfortable setting
The staff were very accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel if you are seeking a refined and beautiful setting in St. Germain.

This hotel was for us a perfect place to call home during our first visit to Paris. The hotel sits on a quiet street in the lovely Saint-Germain neighborhood which is conveniently located to many parts of the city either by foot or the nearby metro. The hotel was full during our stay but somehow quiet tranquility was maintained by staff and guests alike. The conservatory, courtyard and sitting rooms are beautiful, as was our modest sized room. Having windows that opened onto the courtyard with the option to lower an awning to keep things cool and shady was one of our favorite features of the room, along with a deep bathtub with a shower option. Breakfast and lunch options were excellent...fresh and thoughtfully presented. Another reviewer said it well....the hotel has the feel of a family home with luxurious touches. Our special thanks to the gracious reception staff who were able to return to us some items we accidentally left behind. We hope to be back soon!

We had a pleasant 3-night stay at the hotel. The room was well upholstered and the service was quite friendly. The patio garden in back of the hotel is a clear highlight.

However, we were overcharged for breakfast. There is an “express” option available for one coffee and one pastry (€8), and a “normal” option that is a full breakfast (€22). When we asked for just coffee, the staff delivered a plate of breads and juice with our coffee. It turns out that this is the “normal” option. So, we were charged full price despite our communication for the “express” option. For our group of four this amounted to an €108 overcharge during our stay. While the hotel is otherwise excellent, please be aware that you will be given the full breakfast as a default. We brought this up to the concierge and they refused to adjust the charge, which made us feel as though we had been tricked.

We booked a last minute three night stay at this hotel based on TA reviews which we rely on for honesty. The hotel is safe and secure. It would suit a single woman traveler well. The breakfast is high quality with soft boiled eggs, breads, butter, confiture, yogurt and fruit salad. The coffee is not good. The rooms are small but well appointed. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is modern but I can’t seem to keep the water from splashing onto the floor! The window opens and our room faced a quiet courtyard. The noise from the hallway and other rooms is evident but luckily the guests were quiet. The sueoinsong area is very pleasant all there are many sights within walking distance. The area is safe and we would return again gladly.

Hotel de l'Abbaye is a beautiful, quiet oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Paris. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The lobbey and garden are private, quiet and beautiful. Our hotel room was lovely with a large marble bathroom. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. Hotel de l'Abbaye is close to a Metro stop (St. Sulpice) and walking distance to the famous Deux Magots Cafe and Restaurnt de Flore.
