The Hotel Banke is an interesting and beautiful place inside an old bank turned hotel. The lobby is impressive and the location is excellent near the Opera and the famous Parisian Department Stores such as Gallery Lafayette. However the rooms are poorly insulated and through the paper thin doors you can hear everything in the hallways and even the nonstop... More

This hotel is in a lovely area of Paris with plenty of good restaurants and bars close by. The hotel staff are friendly and the rooms are on the small side but lovely and very clean. A perfect spot to explore the City.

The Hotel Banke is ideally situated in the southern are of the Opera district providing for an easy walk to many locations. There is a great little bakery (actually several) and good restaurants (Le Chemin) very close by. The rooms are well appointed, clean and very quiet (this was a bank- the walls are thick). Service was very professional and... More

We booked the hotel as an add on to our Scenic Bordeaux tour. It's an elegant, comfortable and friendly place that we found delightful. Our major disappointment was after we ordered 2 small glasses of red wine from the bar and were then presented with a bill for €35! It explained why we were the only 2 drinking. Apart from... More

Great experience, helpful and friendly staff.great location if you want a low key stay in Paris. If you plan to stay tthere summer, A/C is a problem.they don't have it.they have something called climate control and this is NOT cool air in hot conditions. Otherwise everything else was very nice

Very nice hotel well positioned in the center on Paris. Quite particular the lobby, it reminds an old bank. Spacious room very well furnished. Staff ready to fulfill any request. Only breakfast was average.

The hotel was booked as a surprise! The location is goo, close to Gare du Nord, Galleries Lafayette and of course the Opera House although quiet at night and not much going on. Check-in was a new adventure in rudeness (and that's based on my Paris standards, not American expectations.) The hotel has seen better days. My room had damages to floor, a hole in the drapes, sloppy caulking in the w.c., scratches on the paneling... The promised daily mineral water only arrived once in 6 days. My bedside rose on the first... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
