A brilliantly located apartment. Perfect for enjoying Saint Germain which is away from the bulk tourists. Staff were wonderful and so cooperative. The apartment is a little tired but that goes with the character of Paris and the Saint Germain area. Laundry service is good...More

We got 3 rooms (as we normally do) to house our large family. It was like having 3 charming apartments. The rooms were spacious with a kitchen each. There were updated showers in each apartment. We actually ended up with more space than we needed,...More

In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented

musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

I had (or our accommodation had on our behalf) booked a taxi for four of us (including 2 teens) from CDG airport to our hotel which was a 45 minute drive. It cost 90 euro in and 80 euro back. I had briefly researched buses/trains ect but I felt it was worth it to do it this way as at least you are sure of having a reliable and speedy transfer to and from your accommodation. Between 4 it is not so expensive and the taxi driver was there waiting for us with our name on a placard. Plus when you are a stranger to a place it can be a really frustrating start to your holiday if you do not know how to navigate public transport or if it is late and of course if you have little people in toe! Oh another bonus for us was that our very nice taxi man highlighted and gave us some information on many of the famous sites as we drove in and also supplied us with a tourist guide map of the area.
