About the positive. The main advantage is the excellent location two minutes from Printemps. Across the road there is a nice bistro called Auber. The area of the apartment is, of course, larger compared to a standard room in a Parisian hotel. We had a two-room, two-story suite on the top floor. Room 504, windows facing the street. Living room with access to the balcony and bedroom in the attic. Two bathrooms: downstairs toilet with sink, upstairs full bathroom. Not all rooms in this category are two-story. My parents had room 610 of the same category, one-story, with windows overlooking a quiet courtyard-well, with one bathroom. Now, who cares what is more important? The apartments have everything you need: iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, microwave, dishes. There is no washing machine, but you can go down to the -1st floor, there is a washing machine there.
Now about the doubtful part. The overall impression is 3 stars, despite the recent renovation. I would say this is a modest cosmetic renovation: poor, but clean, the plumbing is fresh. I lived in other apartments of this chain, they were still better. If you book less than 7 nights, no one will clean, change towels, or take out the trash. No privileges for me, as a Gold client, and even for my parents, who had the same number, they have Diamond status with Accor. No welcome drink, nothing. Entrance from the street is only possible with a smart card. Very often there was no one at the reception, especially in the evening, and new guests stood at the entrance with suitcases, unable to enter.
And the toughest thing. One evening, when we returned to our room, we found a MOUSE on the stove. She apparently came running from the slightly open dishwasher, where there was a gap at the top, and disappeared there.
The room had tons of amenities including a dishwasher, but not a proper bed!
While in room 408, the wifi was so slow that my zoom audio calls were disconnected twice in a 30 minute call. Speedtest shows only 10mbps on 4th floor. If you take a room on the 2nd floor wifi is 40mbps
The bathroom sink clogged and black debris came floating back into the sink on day 1 in room 408.
When we went to the first floor to do laundry, it said 5 Euros for washer and 2.50 Euros for dryer. We put 10 Euros in the machine and no change was given! We went to the front desk, and the gentlemen did not know what to do, he told me to wait for his colleague to finish coffee to come help me. I sat in the lobby for 15 minutes then he put on his backpack and left. His colleague came out and had no idea what I was talking about.
If booked 2 rooms @ 20 sq.m., total cost will be euro 400+ for 1 night.
2. Location is good...the only advantage of this hotel.
3. The poorest hotel service that I have ever met ( I'd been travelled around several continents for over 3 years, for both leisure and business).
4. Staffs rarely responded to guests' complaints, and not even keen to resolve problems.
Though the location is good, there are many other quality hotels within the area. Consider I paid euro 450+ for a 350 sq.ft suite, I can pick any hotel in Vendome area at such price.
Great location, 5 mins from the main shopping stores, restaurants. But my room was small compared to Bastille's, worse of all the shower was the weakest I had ever experienced and the sink plug handle was missing.
An unloved and uncared for Hotel room.
