Belleville seemed relatively safe day and night and free from hoards of tourists (I do prefer staying somewhere away from the city centre in that way). There are lots of good places to eat shawarma, Pho, noodles, and Chinese dumplings that were affordable. There are a couple of small grocers downhill and a larger one uphill on the way to the station up there. There is a fully automatic laverie just across the street where you can wash and dry your clothes (if you visit their website they will show when your particular machine is done). It was super convenient for our family!
The hotel itself is clean and well-kept. The rooms are really quite spacious for Paris standards. We started with a large family room on the ground floor which is what we booked but the previous person seemed to have messed up the door lock which was fine because the courtyard just outside was also locked.
I had to stay back with my son for one day because he got pretty sick (from food or maybe from picking up something on the Metro). While I was on the bed watching TV while he was puking his guts out I noticed something run across the floor into the curtains. I shook the curtains and a mouse ran out of there and into a hole next to the dresser. I don't freak out at the sight of mice like some people do so I just went to talk to Eddy, the caretaker at the time. It's understandable because it is Paris and our door faced an open courtyard so it wouldn't take much for a mouse from outside to come in.
Anyways, Eddy was super helpful and gave us 2 separate rooms on the top floor and free breakfast for the rest of our stay while they dealt with the issues of the room. In fact, Eddy was more than helpful to my family and made sure to check with me that my son was ok, made sure I knew that there was a pharmacy nearby and gave recommendations for restaurants nearby as well. He was super caring and knowledgeable.
Anyways, sometimes the best test of a hotel is what they do when something goes wrong because there is that possibility and I have to say they handled it appropriately and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. I'd go back there again for sure because of this and because of all the convenience of what's nearby.

Only French speaking channels with no English subtitles but this mattered little to us as we were out and about a lot.
There is a lift to all floors - but it is very small and a tight squeeze even for 3 people.
We booked 2 rooms, one superior and one classic. Unfortunately our specific request to ensure the superior was allocated to the couple - not the single person - went ignored, so when we realised the mix up we needed to swap rooms (purely on the principle the couple had paid more for the superior room). Actually though, the superior room was only marginally bigger and was at the front, which was much, much noisier outside (Light sleepers should consider ear plugs).
There are no hot drink facilities in the room (only cold drinks from the mini bar). We had one very helpful night receptionist (Saturday) show us where to get some hot water to take up to our rooms (including China cups) and the next morning (Sunday) a day receptionist who responded to my request to purchase 3 coffees to take to our rooms by telling me they didn’t have suitable cups to take to the rooms. So instead, I walked to a local restaurant to purchase 3 takeaway coffees.
Worth noting that the thermostat in both rooms did nothing at all and was stuck on 20, even if you tried to change it.
Overall, it was conveniently situated but I do not feel comfortable with how much we paid and, as it is likely we will be frequenting that area again, I would look for an Airbnb next time - if anything, just to guarantee access to a kettle! 😆
We have ppl with some mobility issues in our group and we rented in this supposed boutique hotel cause it had an elevator but come to find out you have to either climb or go down a floor..The website clearly states wheelchair accessible...its not and there should be laws regarding this kind of deception from these kind of establishments.
Its's a moldy closet if you want to call it that..I can barely fit in the washroom and the window opens to a dirty roof..Oh my.
No air conditioning says the receptionist and my room is 2 long sets of stairs..Unsatisfied completely with this closet I moved from this dump located in a dodgy neighbourhood and relocated to a different hotel..
Just Say No.....

Our flight was delayed which made our late arrival even later. The hotel called to confirm our travel plans and reassured us that checking in wouldn’t be an issue.
Our room was clean and well kept with a safe. The bathroom had a fantastic power shower, which we enjoyed after long days of walking.
Hotel staff were friendly and we would generally recommend that others choose this accommodation when in Paris.

"If accessibility is an issue: there is a lift in one building and not in the other (although it only has 2 floors)"Read full review
