We booked one night at this Chateau on our way back through France. The Chateau was "off the beaten track" and Sat Nav found it hard to locate, but it was worth persevering to find it. The Chateau is beautifully renovated and maintained. We were warmly greeted by Gabrielle and shown to a homely room on the top floor, with...

Great location mid-way between Le Harve and South France for stop over. Hosts very friendly and English spoken. Our room was on the second floor which was quite a climb with luggage. Dinner was a cold plate only no hot food but well worth 20 euro per head including carafe of local red. Setting very beautiful, dinner served under the...

Our stay at Chateau des Essards was truly wonderful. We were a group of three friends and were able to get connecting rooms each with an individual ensuite bathroom. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Laurence was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was included and inlcuded fresh baked goods and homemade jams as well as the best...

The Chateau itself is a sight to behold,(I'm sure I've paid for entry for worse examples) surrounded by well tended gardens and woodland, there are plenty of areas to sit and relax, there is even a pool if the mood takes you. Given that we only made the booking the night before, and there is a requirement to book evening...

Chateau des Essards is located a few minutes by car from Langeais, and became our hub to visit the west side of the Tours region : Azay, Villandry, Saumur and the nearby vineyards along the Loire valley. This is a stunning and very well maintained Chateau with its own park at the edge of a large woodland area : so...

Very peaceful countryside location close to Langeais, Azay le Rideau and a range of Loire valley Chateaux. An attractive building set in its own spacious grounds the chateau was a great place for exploring the Loire Valley area and for relaxing in. The owner was very attentive and provided an excellent dining experience in the evening and great breakfasts. All...

Chateau des Essards [located close to the fabulous chateaux along the Loire] is near Langeais and not far from Tours, on higher ground surrounded by acres of forest. Chateau des Essards is in fact a chambres d'hote but more an exquisite boutique hotel in the country. As you park your car the owners come down the steps to meet you....

Booked for an overnight stay en route to the south based on location, their website, an excellent restaurant near by and Trip Advisor reviews. Off the beaten track rather than remote, but easy to find, a long curving drive up to the chateau sets the scene. Delightful french owners with good english, who bought the chateau four years ago and...

The chateau is really pretty and well maintained. Nice grounds around it. The location is a bit remote but the place and the charming hosts more than make up for it! We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this place for a quiet and peacful holiday or as a base for visiting the nearby chateaux.

We stayed in the first floor suite, composed of two large rooms, each with a good sized bathroom. The grounds are beautiful, unfortunately we did not have time to take advantage of the pool. Minus points are that there was no television in the rooms and the breakfast was a bit light.
