The hotel has a pleasant ambiance and is simply but comfortably furnished.
We asked for a taxi to take us to a restaurant across a river and when the owner couldn't get one she contacted her husband who picked us up in his own car and took us to the restaurant where he asked the owners to call him when we finished our meal and he would come pick us up! Impeccable service!
A great place to stay in this charming town.

The breakfast room is very inviting and there was a very good choice of food including fresh croissants, toast, jams, cheese, ham, yoghurts, nuts, fruit, eggs etc and it is all beautifully presented in a nice airy conservatory.
The staff at the hotel are most obliging and speak good english.
Overall an excellent choice if you want a central hotel at a competive price.
To be highly recommended.
Noise from your best! is it not from the air conditioning is it from people who then take a bath / shower where the drains empty! is it from the night entrance. A quail of gate with a door embedded in it.
Breakfast is really minimalist.
Hygiene is substandard... had a stay of 4 nights and not once has been cleaned in the room let alone linen changed! towels are changed though. The garden is a real shame to show to the people.
The only positive thing to say about this hotel is ...
Super friendly people! Both in the hotel (reception) and in the adjacent hotel where the dining room is ... super friendly!!!
For us it is certainly not worth repeating.
For the area and sights TOP!!!

The welcome was first class and the room very spacious and well equipped.
The breakfast served as a buffet in the conservatory had a wonderful choice of food and drinks including smoked salmon and home made fruit salad and cakes as well as pastries and a good selection of hot and cold drinks.
We ate dinner in the Bistro du Marche next door which had an excellent menu.
All in all a great hotel which we would highly recommend as you are very well treated and the facilities are all excellent.
The staff was somewhat distant and living in their own world and rhythm (“don’t dare to interrupt me”), yet they were friendly and welcoming. I had a late night arrival and despite the advise in the booking when I arrived there was nobody. I was lucky and there was the chef from the neighboring restaurant (which I figured out all belong to the same owner), who called the owner who was than walking me through how to get my key. That was a shock at first, but friendly and helpful support. Maybe I had too high expectations … did I leave feeling bad: mmh, a bit yes a bit no. Would I go back …. Not at all. Spiderwebs in the room (framing it positively: they were good against mosquitos). Was there wifi (for free as per the prospect): yes. Did I find anywhere the credentials: no. Was I too annoyed to ask: yes!
Great AC. A very comfortable night's sleep.
In a good location. A short stroll to the town centre.
The owner advised us that parking our car (free) on the square outside the hotel was safe. The Gendarmarie is just across the square. Alternatively the hotel offers parking for €12. You can’t park on the square on market day.
Reception staff are excellent.
Be aware that most restaurants close on Mondays in Chinon. We ate at Cafe des Arts which we would definitely not recommend. On our way back from there we noticed that there was an open restaurant, three or four doors town-side from the hotel.
We would definitely stay in this hotel again.
