We have known this hotel for a long time but sadly not eaten there for some time. A friend invited us there and we were so pleased to accept. It was a lovely experience. The restaurant is formal with lovely table settings and a great menu. We had a set menu which gave the three of us plenty of scope...

Arrived late Sunday afternoon, found the hotel easily enough, but tracking down the parking was much more tricky. After a couple of laps of the town we just dumped the car in the city car park and checked into the hotel. The staff were helpful and gave good directions to their garage, which was close, a bit tight space wise,...

A beautiful hotel in the hart of Chartres. Very close to the old town and the cathedral. The restaurant is very clean and sober, the service correct but 'cold', the food delicious, a bit gastronomic, but small portions. You have to make a reservation.

Checked in to this hotel on a very hot day (32C = ~90F). No AC. Cafe was already closed (1:30pm). The room was spacious but very street noisy, even with the windows closed. The decorations are tired and shabby (and not in a "shabby chic" way). The draperies are coming away from the rod; the attempt at "natural" decorating is...

This hotel lies very conveniently to the upper town and the cathedral. The staff friendly and spoke a little English. (my French is almost non-existent). The elevator is extremely small, so not good if you are claustrophobic. The room is very small and not much larger than the double bed. Okay for a short visit, but probably a bit undersized...

A one night stopover on the way back to the UK from Toulouse. Always a terrific city to visit with the Lumiere display at the cathedral. The hotel is in a great situation at the edge of the square and has a superb restaurant with a terrace overlooking the road. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. An ideal location

Selected from the Michelin Guide we hoped the restaurant would be above average. The interior was light with views across to the distant cathedral but the contemporary decor and table settings appeared rather fomal. Staff, whilst professional, seemed disinterested and the food, although reasonably well presented was unexceptional. Similarly, the wines (a Cote de Rhone and a Chablis) did not...

While there was no one at reception when we arrived a simple call of "hello" resulted in an immediate response of friendly and efficient check in. Our room was clean and comfortable and but for a tree in full bloom would have provided a spectacular view of the Cathedral. All in all a wonderful stay with an excellent restaurant reviewed...

Chartres is a magical city by day and night so having a hotel right in the centre from which we could reach the cathedral and all the illuminated sights was perfect. The room was small but quiet and very comfortable. The restaurant served imaginative dishes with great presentation. For us this was an ideal hotel. We would recommend.

On arrival there was no-one in reception. After waiting for 5 minutes a receptionist arrived from the street.. He was efficient but did not apologise for not being at his post. The lift was tiny. Two slim people with one small case and it was full. No-one would wish to share it with a stranger. The room was small but...
