Wonderful hotel in an old abbaye...but beware of the steps. We were put on the top floor...no elevator and a winding staircase all the way to the top. It was 72 stairs plus another 12 in our room to the loft. My mom counted....who is 71 years old and it is a long way up. We asked to change the...

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it so we came back. The room we were given was the Frier Pierre which was lovely - especially the small but perfectly formed bathroom. Great building full of atmosphere. Only one thing this place does not have a lift and so beware because you do have to climb some stone stairs up...

This hotel was our only disappointment on this three week trip to nine cities. All hotels try to look their best in photos. Many of the smaller hotels have tiny rooms, and one learns to “interpret” photos that exaggerate. We arrived before check in and left our bags, expecting them to be taken to our room when it was available....

Our room was very nice, but I believe it would benefit from a coffee machine of some type. The stairs are steep, but if you climb the outside of them, they are very similar to normal stairs. The front desk was very helpful, and sent us to our favorite dinner of our trip.

Incredible building with stone arches overhead in the ancient lobby/restaurant. Eating delicious pastries and perfect cappuccino by candlelight in the dim stone room was an amazing experience. We stayed in the duplex rooms on the top floor-- also a unique experience, though know that you need strong legs to go up and down the spiral staircase leading to the rooms!

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night at Abbaye de Maizieres as a stopover en route to Provence/Cote d'Azur. With its medieval features of vaulted ceilings (in the reception and restaurant areas) and spiral staircase (to the bedroom suites) it certainly has plentiful charm, though it may not be ideal if you have mobility issues. Service was polite, efficient and professional. Our...

We wanted a period property in the centra of Beaune and this boutique hotel is a real treasure. Great restoration with period features but air con and efficient plumbing! Family owned and run and it shows - from the warm welcome and help with the bags, to the attentive suggestions of where to go and where to eat. Breakfast was...

This hotel is wonderful - incredible ambience with a location right in the center of town. The hotel's restaurant is also fabulous - great food and attentive but not overbearing service. The location is in the center of town so close to everything. The only downside is accessibility for anyone with a physical impairment. Access to the rooms is via...

We stayed at Abbaye de Maizieres for one night at the end of a self organised 14 day cycle trip around Burgundy. I wanted comfortable accommodation but did not want to spend a fortune as we would only needed a place to sleep for one night. Abbaye de Maizieres met my expectations providing a very comfortable room, nice bathroom and...

Beaune is a fantastic place, it's got loads of character, lots to see and an abundance of restaurants. This hotel is very central Ana a mere 5 mins walk from it all. They were very welcoming, the receptionist was extremely accommodating and spoke very good English. The hotel rooms are spacious and very clean, highly recommended

Thank Tony B
