Stayed many times at this hotel and it is always a treat!! Great location on the Sillon Beach sea front with beautiful sea views from the rooms with a balcony, 2 to 3 minutes from the Casino and about 5 to 6 walk to the St Malo Remparts and all the restaurants, bars and shops that St Malo has to offer! Friendly reception staff and efficient check-in. The room with sea view room and balcony is spacious with 2 good size twin beds, well appointed bathroom, good shower and a separate WC! Clean and comfortable. Good parking with access directly to the hotel (needed with lots of roads works in progress and not too bad value at 20e per night). Pet friendly! Voucher for 2 glasses of champagne was appreciated!!!

Located literally 2 minutes walk from the walled city Intra Muros and overlooking Le Grande Plage Du Sillon. If you book a Superior room with balcony you get a fantastic view of the whole bay and a nice place to watch the sun rise and set. A modern style decor Hotel the rooms are not particularly inspiring, more motel functional. Nice bar and restaurant area and their is also a small pool and spa but more importantly the beach is just across the road. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Important to book under hotel parking (be warned very tight parking spaces) as parking generally around the old walled city is always busy. Also remember a Local tax is also added to room costs. Superior rooms with balcony sea view around €300 a night at time of visit, but justified by the stunning views.

Due to Covid we have not been able to enjoy our trips to France for a while. Hotel Oceania Saint Malo was the first stop of our five weeks driving trip in France. The hotel is definitely a keeper. Guess we are sort of unorthodox travelers, since I always bring way too much luggage. The hotel is easily accessible with street parking most of the time. You have to use the meter during the day. The hotel can provide you with paid parking if booked in advance. Our welcome was warm and friendly. The staff was always helpful, checking dinner reservations and what ever we needed. They follow strict safety precautions. Our room the Evasion Suite was a dream come true for tired overnight flyers from the US. It was roomy, comfortable, with a most wondrous view. There was a safe, coffee in the room, good WIFI, balcony, and great bathroom with excellent hot water in abundance. Three nights was just not enough. Dining is within walking distance, and the Vielle Ville is just a short walk away. There is also a casino next door, which doesn't affect the hotel, but you can hop over if you wish. High regards to the staff who are helpful, knowledgeable, very friendly. We were each offered a free glass of Taittinger Champagne, which I adore, and I appreciated their generosity. We would love to return to the Oceania Hotel, even if it proves to be a bit out of our way during our travels. Truly memorable!

Although in a good location for the town and sea front walks our room was disappointing, particularly at this price level. Our room was tatty, had no fridge, the bed was cheap and uncomfortable, the shower surged scorching hot water every 10 seconds, no carpet to floor and insufficient clothes storage. The majority of these items are standard on much cheaper travel lodge type hotels, so we felt conned by the standard and price charged at this hotel. It seems this hotel have reached their 4* status by installing a tiny pool and a ridiculously miniature gym instead of investing in the room comfort. On the plus side the breakfast was good and the bar area attractive. We often visit France so had this hotel been good we would have started using them throughout the country, but if this is an example then we obviously won’t and will return to Mercure.

We carefully killed the time until 3:00 check-in but our room was still not ready until almost 3:30. Our sea view was nice. The room was well- designed but tiny. Bathroom was also very well-designed and appointed. We’re naive Americans and had never seen the thing where you have to insert your hotel key to get any electricity in the room, had to figure that out on our own. We speak a bit of French, the hotel clerk insisted on English, but he did not understand that I wanted food but my husband didn’t, so we were served expensive food we did not want. And the bed “linens” felt like some kind of disposable plasticish weave. Not terrible, not great.

My wife and I stayed here one night as part of a Globus tour. Oceania is well located, across the street from the beach and a short walk from the historic walled city center. Our room was okay but rather small. Bathroom had a bath/ shower combo and a separate toilet room which was so tiny I could barely shut the door once I was in. The breakfast was not very good by the standards we have come to expect with Globus. There were scrambled eggs and sausages, but no bacon. There was a decent selection of bread. My biggest complaint is that there was no freshly brewed coffee, only a coffee machine producing very weak coffee even when I chose Espresso. It is a shame that hotels in a country renowned for gourmet food cannot brew a pot of coffee.

We spent a very lovely week in this beautiful hotel. Our room looked directly out on the Channel with lovely views from the glass doors. The room was very clean and very comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices and delicious. The staff at the front desk and in the bar and breakfast room were all courteous, friendly, and helpful. We are certainly planning on a return trip.

Good view of the beach if you have a sea front room. Hotel service is not compatible with the price charged. Breakfast provisions and equipment not satisfactorily managed or supervised. Bathroom needs a bit of an update. Air con turned off without notice.

Positives: The hotel is located a very short walk to the city gates. The rooms are bright with a nice balcony. It is across the street from the beach and a short walk to get to the beach. The shower provides hot water. The bath products are wonderful and work extremely well.
Could be improved: Checkin was a disaster. There is not heating or it did not work. There is no restaurant on site. The bar only operates a limited amount of time. The breakfast was not properly organized and there was constantly a lack of food and a lack of anything/or anyone refilling it. Overall, breakfast was a disaster 5 days straight.
I would say the hotel is average at best.

This hotel was unpleasant in every aspect. The room we had was in the eaves of the hotel. As a taller person this meant that I was unable to stand up straight if I wanted to get near the (completely inadequate) tiny sky-light windows. The room had a mezzanine bed area. This was accessed by stairs that were so steep and curved that they were, in my opinion, an accident waiting to happen. The air conditioning in the main (lower) area was effective, but did not reach the mezzanine level which remained unbearably hot and stuffy. The hotel's administration was extremely inefficient, with the staff seemingly unable to provide the type of room that had been ordered online the night before. I would avoid this hotel at all costs!
