Great hotel located right in the heart of the old town. We stayed in a family room that was perfect for our family of 4. The kids had their own room with a pull out day bed, creating two singles for them. The room was well catered for a family with the bathroom and facilities having family specific adaptations which were great and would be very good for people with even younger kids. Comfortable beds, good WiFi, all round good stay. We had breakfast on one day of our stay, and the continental options was more than enough, didn’t really need the added cooked breakfast. We’ll be back next time we visit Saint Malo!

I had a great stay at the Hotel La Maison des Armateurs! The room was comfortable and clean. The location is ideal in beautiful Saint-Malo! I was especially impressed with the staff who were very pleasant and helpful, including giving great restaurant suggestions and even making the reservation for our dinner. We couldn't check in until 3:00 (not unusual) but the hotel happily and safely kept our luggage before and after check-in. The one thing i would have liked to be different was the layout of the room. The toilet and the bath/shower were at complete opposite ends (with no sink with the toilet). The view from my room wasn't great but and because it opened on a courtyard/back alley), it was quiet. Overall the hotel was very nice and updated so I would definitely stay there again! I didn't have breakfast there but the restaurant looked nice!

An oasis of calm and comfort in vibrant St Malo ‘ intra muros’. The décor and furnishing is stylish - unstuffy with quality fittings. The high ceilings of the old building give the rooms a spacious feel. The staff are charming, well-trained and super helpful. Parking greatly appreciated

Why am I not sure,well basically we were there for just one night.
It was clean and for me basic for 4 star hotel.
The staff were friendly and approachable.
Due to an early start breakfast was not available for us ( starts service at 7a.m so if you have to get to ferry port although only 5minutes away by car just beware.
The hotel has a car park which is a plus,it is under the hotel and you have to drive away from the front of the hotel and round the corner to get to it. Access is a bit tricky and spaces are limited. Shuffling of cars may be necessary ( you leave car keys at reception). I would think that in high summer you would have NO chance of parking.
Would I go back? Only if there was no other option not out of choice.

Nor are we "Sure" where this commentary is going. As St Malo is a walled city on an island, parking is not quite as simple as at the grocery store. We are lucky enough to have 7 secured parking spaces underneath the hotel, narrow as they may be, they do come in handy. They are available when reserved , but there are also public parking lots situated 50m from the hotel. A simple continental breakfast is available as early as needed and complementary coffee and tea is available in each room. Our friendly staff would be more than happy to welcome you back, should you find not other options of course.

We (family of 3 - 2 adults, 1 child) had a lovely stay for one night at La Maison des Armateurs. We wished we were staying both at the hotel and in Saint Malo for longer! The room is a nice size with the extra bed for our daughter. The bathroom is big with a fantastic bathtub and shower. We opted to have the buffet breakfast which was also well stocked with a nice variety. The location is great, right inside the city walls so easy to drop in to leave luggage then pop outside to park. The front desk was very helpful with guidance on where to park, and recommendations for restaurants. Would stay again!

Excellent location within the walls of St Malo . Easy walking to all the shops and a vast selection of restaurants . The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We stayed as a one night stop over before catching the ferry to Jersey the ferry port is 5 minutes drive with ferries also to Guernesey and England . We picked the basic double room which was more than adequate for one night and very comfortable bed !

great hotel right in the medieval city. Close to shops, bars and restaurants. Would recommend this hotel. The room was large and had excellent double glazing so you could not hear a sound from the busy streets outside. Will definately use this hotel in the future

A very clean and well-run hotel. Right near the Grand’Porte. Staff was fluent in English and super friendly, answering our questions and recommending a thoughtful choice of wonderful restaurants each night we stayed. The staff made our stay in St. Malo relaxing and enjoyable.

I've found my place in Saint Malo. I've stayed in quite a few hotels in side the walls of this fortified city. I go to Saint Malo a few times a year, and have been going there regularly for the last 5 years or so. This is the best hotel. Everything is perfect. The rooms and bathrooms are large, spotlessly clean, quiet. The reception area is large , there is a bar to enjoy a drink of your choice. You can schedule a massage ..I didn't because I didn't have the time, but I will next time I go. I've already booked for the holidays. There is a hot water kettle in the room to make coffee or tea. Or bring your own hot water bottle for the those chilly winter nights.

nice hotel with excellent location. rooms were clean and comfortable albeit not very large. bathroom was nice and convenient to use, although water pressure was not very strong and could be a bit more. very friendly staff.
